One Brutal Suits Theory Suggests Harvey’s Loyalty Was Rooted in Guilt, Not Genius
Image
Beneath the hard-hitting courtroom drama, legal jargon, and betrayals, Suits is remembered for the iconic duo of Harvey Specter and Mike Ross. Aside from being power-hungry corporate lawyers, the two are best friends, like Batman and Robin, saving each other from harm’s way. This made many non-viewers watch the show, as they were impressed by their friendly banter and how they could win any case if they started work on it together.

But it often occurs to us that Harvey hired Ross not because he was another version of him. Instead, his cold, calculated personality was taken over by his gentle and grieving side, where he saw Mike Ross simply as his younger brother, whom he had abandoned.

Harvey Specter’s Guilt Led to Mike Ross’ Lawyer Life

There’s no denying that Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams) is a brilliant individual who has a photographic memory and an...

‘Three’s Company’ Producers Didn’t Respect Women, According to Suzanne Somers and Joyce DeWitt
Image
Chauvinism definitely played a role on 1970s sitcom smash Three’s Company, Joyce DeWitt told Suzanne Somers in 2012. But it was also about creative and financial control. Producers simply could not respect…

“Women!” interjected Somers.

“Feminine contribution,” agreed DeWitt.

For Somers, frustration centered on compensation. “You and I deserved to be paid equal with what the men were being paid, is my feeling,” she said.

For DeWitt’s part, she was frustrated about her inability to make creative contributions without secret help from male pals. Her suggestions for cuts and changes, especially in the show’s first season, were ignored by the men in charge, DeWitt writes in Come and Knock on Our Door: A Hers and Hers and His Guide to Three’s Company. The actor was used to collaboration in theater but found herself “up against a cement wall” with the show’s producers.

“It’s the only time...

"That Was All Very Nostalgic": 'Suits' Gabriel Macht Reveals His Own "Full-Circle Moment" While Filming 'Suits LA'
Image
Suitsis a beloved show and when Suits LA brought the feel of the show back to us, there was one thing that fans missed: Harvey Specter. Played by Gabriel Machton the original series, fans wondered if we'd ever get to see Harvey and Ted Black (Stephen Amell) in action together. Which is what made Macht's return to the franchise such an exciting time for fans. Macht spoke with People about his return and shared how nostalgic he felt. Not necessary for his time on Suits though.

"We ended up shooting the first couple scenes at Rancho Park, which is the park that I practiced high school baseball at," Macht said about his baseball scene on the show. "So getting into a uniform and playing baseball for that scene, not only was it nostalgic just to be Harvey again, [but also to be] on a set with my showrunner from the original show, Aaron Korsh...

Suits Panic Attack Paradox: Donna Never Actually Fixed Harvey, It Was Just Lazy Writing
Image
Suits was a perfect blend of humor and courtroom drama featuring some of the most complex characters out there. It also showcased several romantic plotlines, out of which fans definitely cheered for Donna Paulsen and Harvey Spector. Moreover, she was also called the ultimate fixer, praised for being his voice of reason as well as the one who could always pull him back from the edge.

But when you take a closer look at the duo, was she really the solution to his struggles or just plain, lazy writing? So, instead of showcasing his real trauma in the show, Suits leaned towards Donna as an instant cure.

The same was detailed by a user on Reddit as well, who went into great detail as to how the show oversimplified one of its most compelling character arcs.

In the world of courtroom dramas, Suits can definitely give all the other shows a run for their money. It took the world by storm when it was released in 2011, and since then, it has managed to break several records. Apart from boasting a huge fan following, the show also brought forth several notable actors into the spotlight. Patrick J. Failed Twilight Replacement With 7% Rt Score Becomes a Hit on Netflix 9 Years Later
Image
The 2000s were huge for the young adult genre. With fantasy kicking off in the aftermath of The Twilight Saga's success, which adapted Stephenie Meyer's book series, many studios rushed to adapt popular stories.

Aside from Harry Potter and Twilight, some successful adaptations got the opportunity to become great franchises, like The Hunger Games, The Maze Runner, and the slightly less successful Divergent. However, not all adaptations of young adult fantasy stories were a success, such as Lauren Kate's Fallen. The 2009 novel was turned into a film in 2016 and, following a poor reception and commercial run,Fallen has now become a hit on Netflix, Tudum reports.

Friday Night Lights, Scrubs, and more shows being rebooted that don't need reboots
Image
Over the past decade or so, reboots and revivals have become a major source of contention among consumers. More and more networks and streamers began rolling out updated iterations of past favorites, whether it was Netflix getting the Tanner family back together for Fuller House or The CW reimagining 1980s primetime soap Dynasty through a modern lens.

The success of reboots and revivals wasn't always a given, even if established IP seems like a safe bet for a slam dunk. While the craze has slowed down ever so slightly, there have still been plenty of returns, like sitcom revivals Will & Grace, Frasier, Roseanne, Night Court, and Mad About You, drama reboots like Charmed, Bel-Air, Gossip Girl, and Magnum P.I.

Whether we like it or not, the reboot and revival train will continue to move full steam ahead. There's already a handful of beloved shows set for some sort of return,...

While speaking with Jesse Tyler Ferguson on his “Dinner’s on Me” podcast, Adams admitted to the reasons he stepped away from the show after Season 7. According to him, a dependence on alcohol and mental health struggles forced him to bow out early.

8 Suits Characters Who Cant Be Missing From The Suits Reunion Movie
Image
Essential Suits characters must return for any potential reunion movie to truly work. Beloved characters like Louis Litt and Jessica Pearson's storylines need closure in a movie. Meghan Markle's return as Rachel Zane may be unlikely, but not entirely out of the question.

If Suits was going to return for a reunion movie, some essential characters would need to come back. While audiences have been waiting for the upcoming spin-off series Suits: L.A., this has reignited the conversation on whether the main series was also due a return, which Mike Ross's actor Patrick J. Adams has not ruled out (via Variety), even going as far as to state, I think its possible. Of course, this meant a movie was far from confirmed, but it still begged the question of what characters should be in it if a movie were made.

Suits Best Villain Arc Should Have Lasted Much Longer Than It Did

Louis Litt's villain arc in Suits season 4 was one of the show's best but ended too soon. Louis forgave Mike Ross after only three episodes, cutting short his potential as a full-time villain. Louis was more captivating as an antagonist in Suits, showcasing his complexity beyond comic relief.

Suits season 4 delivered the shows best villain arc, yet only lasted a few episodes. While the first few Suits episodes followed a case-of-the-week structure, the show later began to have multi-episode arcs dedicated to just one case or topic. For example, Suits season 2 was about taking down Daniel Hardman, the show's first overarching villain. Most of the Suits antagonists were characters from outside the firm, though, which is why season 4s Louis Litt storyline was so promising. Suits' New Spinoff Proves How Important Meghan Markle's Character Really Was
Image
Meghan Markle's portrayal of Rachel Zane in Suits had a significant impact on the original series and its expanding franchise. The upcoming Suits spinoff, Suits: Los Angeles, will feature a lead character, Erica, who shares similarities with Markle's Zane. While it would have been plausible for Zane to appear in the new series, Markle's return to the role is unlikely due to her retirement from acting and royal duties.

Suits' upcoming new spinoff is a remarkable indicator of how critical Meghan Markle's Rachel Zane role had been to the original series. Zane was Suits' star paralegal at the Hardmen-Pearson law firm (later Specter Litt), whose character arc was defined by her lasting romance with lead character Michael Ross and her strict ambition to become a fierce lawyer in her own right. Although Zane was a regular character for seven of the legal drama's eight seasons, Markle left the Suits'...

Image
The “Suits” buzz continues! Gabriel Macht and Patrick Adams, who portrayed Harvey Spector and Michael Ross, respectively, on the USA Network series, will be presenting at the 81st Annual Golden Globe Awards on Sunday.

“Suits,” produced by UCP, originally aired for nine seasons from 2011 to 2019. Adams and Macht starred alongside Rick Hoffman, Meghan Markle, Gina Torres and Sarah Rafferty. Sources tell Variety that other cast members were invited to present as well.

Although the legal drama was successful during its initial run, even launching a spinoff, “Pearson,” it reentered the cultural conversation this year when the first eight seasons began streaming on Netflix. (It was already available on Peacock.) Since it arrived on the streaming giant, it topped the charts for multiple weeks, even breaking a record with the most-ever No. 1 appearances on Nielsen’s Streaming Top 10 chart.

Patrick J. Adams Apologizes For Sharing ‘Suits’ Photos With Meghan Markle Amid Actors Strike
Image
Actor Patrick J. Adams took to social media to apologize for sharing throwback photos during his time with Suits amid the SAG-AFTRA strike.

The actor, who played the lead role of Michael Ross, posted several photos during his time on the show. Several of his co-stars, including Meghan Markle, Sarah Rafferty, Gabriel Macht and Rick Hoffman, were featured in the photos.

His post broke SAG-AFTRA rules, as actors are not allowed to take part in promotional work for film and television. This includes directly or indirectly talking about past projects. Adams then deleted the posts and posted an apology on his Instagram stories.

“The last couple of days I foolishly and thoughtlessly let a trip down Suits memory lane distract me from the very real and ongoing fight everyone in @sagaftra continues to wage in its effort to win our membership realistic 21st Century compensation and protections,” he said.

Suits: Jacinda Barrett's Zoe Was Harvey's Best Love Interest
Image
Harvey's relationships on Suits were often doomed from the start, including his ill-fated relationship with his former therapist and his messy affair with his colleague's sister. While Harvey had a complicated relationship with his long-time secretary Donna, his chemistry with Zoe Lawford was unmatched and she challenged him in a way no other woman could. Zoe Lawford was his best love interest and their relationship had the potential to evolve into something more, but it was cut short, leaving fans wondering what could have been.

Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht) may have ended up with Donna in Suits, but Zoe Lawford (Jacinda Barrett) was his best love interest. The legal drama follows Michael Ross (Patrick J. Adams) and Harvey Specter, the latter of which has a great reputation not only for being a great legal mind but for his chaotic romantic life. The Suits character had no shortage of love...

How Suits Beat Wednesday And May Become The Most Popular Show Ever On Netflix
Image
Suits has surpassed Wednesday's six-week streaming record on Netflix, potentially becoming the most popular show on the streaming platform ever. Suits' success can be attributed to its eight seasons of content, broader appeal, strong cast, and interesting cases, making it approachable for viewers with limited knowledge of the legal system. Suits has the potential to overtake Stranger Things as Netflix's most popular show, as it has been steadily breaking records every week and shows no sign of losing momentum.

Wednesday was a big hit for Netflix but now Suits has not only beaten its viewership but might just become the most popular show on the streaming platform ever. Created by Aaron Korsh, the legal drama follows Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht), a Manhattan corporate lawyer with a powerful team, adjusting to Michael Ross (Patrick J. Adams), a new partner at the firm that throws everything off balance. Although season 9 of Suits isn't on Netflix,...

Why Is Everybody Watching ‘Suits’?
Image
“Excuse me, that isn’t … is that … Suits?”

This was me at the barbershop a few Saturdays ago. I was fifth in line for a haircut and trying to focus on my new library book, but my attention kept being drawn to the TV set, which was not only showing the legal drama, which ran from 2011-19 on USA, but showing its very first episode. Though I didn’t watch the series for long, I remembered that debut very well, having reviewed it a dozen years and several websites ago.

The Best Legal Dramas to Watch After Suits
Image
Forgive us if we occasionally sound surprised or bemused in our coverage of the Suits streaming phenomenon. It’s just that an innocuous 2010s cable series suddenly becoming a monster hit on streaming is a fairly perplexing experience.

Streaming services like Netflix and Peacock, both of which host multiple seasons of Suits, spend untold millions trying to produce their own original hits only for a USA Network series from years ago to blow them all out of the water. People quite simply can’t get enough of the legal machinations of Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht), Michael Ross (Patrick J. Adams), and the rest of the personnel a their constantly-changing law firm.

Why, exactly, has Suits in particular become such a hit? We’ll leave that one for the sociologists. But the show’s success this summer has made one undeniable fact of TV life clear: legal dramas are great! For decades,...

The Suits Spinoff That You Forgot Happened
Image
USA Network legal drama Suits has entered an important second phase in its TV life. After airing throughout the 2010s on basic cable, the show about a very busy New York law firm has become an unexpected hit in the streaming world.

Though all nine seasons of the series have been available to stream on Peacock for awhile now, the addition of the first eight seasons to Netflix on June 17 helped supercharge its popularity. According to Nielsen, Suits has broken streaming records with the number of minutes it was streamed across multiple platforms this summer. Anecdotally, you may even know of several folks cranking through the show’s 134 episodes right now – or maybe that person is even you!

While Suits‘ “second phase” as a bona fide streaming phenomenon is an impressive achievement for any show with cable origins, there is still one more phase in the TV life cycle it needed to conquer: a spinoff.

Meghan Markle, Patrick J. Adams, Gabriel Macht: Where Are The Suits Cast Now
Image
Perhaps you’ve heard but it’s been a very Suits summer.

Despite airing its final episode in September 2019, USA Network’s legal procedural Suits has been the talk of the streaming world ever since its first eight seasons arrived to Netflix on June 17. All nine seasons have been streaming on Peacock for far longer but Netflix, as the biggest streaming service, tends to drive the most attention. Per Nielsen, Suits has already broken its own streaming record with 3.7 billion minutes viewed the first week of July and viewership intensity doesn’t appear to be slowing down anytime soon.

The potential reasons for Suits‘ surge in popularity are manyfold. While the dual WGA and Sga strikes shouldn’t have led to an extended pause in summer content in theory, some studios have juggled their schedules a bit to weather the storm for the fall season. Additionally, Suits‘ basic cable format...

Japan Music Idol Nakajima Yuto Sees ‘#Manhole’ as Opportunity to Show His Maturity as an Actor —Berlinale Special
Image
The Berlinale Special section of the Berlin Film Festival is a showcase for movies that are intelligent, but less arty than those in the main competition or festival sidebars. And in showcasing mainstream non-English-language films the section is also a springboard for performers who may be big news at home, but who are little-known outside their core markets.

Japan’s Nakajima Yuto fits that description perfectly. He has a dual career as a singer with boy band Hey! Say! Jump! and more than a decade as an actor. His acting credits including the Mike Ross role in the Japanese remake of hit U.S. series “Suits.” In his position as a music idol appealing to a volatile, younger demographic, means that selecting acting roles is — normally — something requiring careful consideration.

Yet, Nakajima told Variety, he leaped at the chance to star in “#Manhole,” where the male lead has to both...

Prince Harry Admits Watching Meghan Markle’s ‘Suits’ Sex Scenes Was a ‘Mistake’
Prince Harry
Prince Harry‘s forthcoming memoir Spare which is set to be released on January 10, has had no excerpts officially released to any media outlets but snippets have been leaked to the press regardless. Including a saucy anecdote from Page Six which reveals that the Duke of Sussex says he needs “electric-shock therapy” to get Meghan Markle’s sex scenes from Suits out of his head. Prince Harry admits in his memoir that he made “the mistake of Googling and watching some of her love scenes online” when he began dating his now-wife. (Credit: Getty Images) “I’d witnessed her and a castmate mauling each other in some sort of office or conference room,” the 38-year-old reportedly writes. “I didn’t need to see such things live,” he adds. Markle played the character of Rachel Zane in the USA Network legal drama for seven seasons. Her character’s love interest was Mike Ross,...

Prince Harry says he made the ‘mistake’ of Googling Meghan Markle’s sex scenes in Suits
Image
Prince Harry expressed the extreme discomfort he felt after watching Meghan Markle’s sex scenes in Suits.

From 2011 and 2018, Markle starred as lawyer Rachel Zane in the hit legal drama opposite Patrick J Adams, who played her love interest, Mike Ross.

Markle married producer Trevor Engelson just after the show’s first season premiered, before getting divorced in 2014.

Two years later, Harry and Markle met before eventually getting married in 2018.

During the early days of their relationship, Harry recalled making “the mistake of Googling and watching some of her love scenes online” in an excerpt (via Page Six) from his forthcoming memoir Spare.

“I’d witnessed her and a castmate mauling each other in some sort of office or conference room,” he wrote. “I didn’t need to see such things live.”

Harry admitted that in order to get Markle’s sex scenes out of his head, he was going...

Meghan Markle’s TV and film roles, from Deal or No Deal to Suits
Image
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s new Netflix documentary, Harry & Meghan, is fast becoming one of the most talked-about TV events of the year.

The series, which will drop its first three episodes on Thursday 8 December, is expected to be the couple’s most revealing TV appearance since their bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021.

In the trailer for the new series, Prince Harry can be heard suggesting that there were stories “planted” against Markle during their time as senior members of the royal institution.

Here’s a rundown of Markle’s career in TV and film.

Markle made her acting debut in an episode of US soap opera General Hospital in 2002.

Her work throughout much of the next decade was characterised by short, one-episode appearances on TV series such as CSI: NY, 90210, and The League, also appearing in a two-episode arc on Fox’s sci-fi drama Fringe in...

10 TV Lawyers That Redditors Love In The Courtroom
Image
Better Call Saul wrapped up a few months ago and fans still aren't over it. It was a great character-driven drama about the titular lawyer, his life, and his practice. Recently, She-Hulk: Attorney At Law also wrapped up its first season, which told a pretty quirky comedy about a lawyer with superpowers.

These two series seemingly have very little in common, but their names come up when discussing the best TV lawyers. Redditors, in particular, have been discussing which TV lawyers are their favorite and who they'd like to defend them if they were ever in need. This has cultivated a diverse but talented list of law experts to watch.

Kim Wexler - Better Caul Saul

When asked which TV lawyers they'd like to defend them, Redditor MiguelSanchezEsq has made a few choices. One of them was Kim Wexler, the put-together foil to Saul Goodman in Better Call Saul. Compared to the criminal protagonist,...

Will Everybody Love Raymond’s Tribeca Fest Directing Debut ‘Somewhere In Queens,’ And Why Is Ray Romano So Worried About It?
Image
Ray Romano tonight makes his directorial debut with the Tribeca Film Festival premiere of Somewhere In Queens. While this affable guy made a fortune starring in one of the biggest sitcoms of all time, then headlined the animated franchise Ice Age and went on to become the rare sitcom star to succeed as a dramatic actor in films including Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman, Romano doesn’t try to hide the nervousness he feels before tonight’s 8 Pm premiere at Bmcc Tribeca Performing Arts Center. Or the almost paralyzing anxiety he felt at the prospect of making the film.

Romano stars as the son of an Italian construction business owner who toils unappreciated in dad’s business along with everyone else in the family. Life with his wife (Laurie Metcalf) in Queens is unexceptional, except when Leo watches his son Sticks (Jacob Ward) play high school basketball. The kid excels,...

‘Top Chef’ Teamsters Trial: Second Producer Testifies About Incident That “Terrified” Padma Lakshmi
Image
Updated with captioned video: A second female Top Chef producer testified today in Boston federal court that she too witnessed local Teamsters threatening to harm the show’s host, Padma Lakshmi, as she tried to cross their picket line back in June 2014.

The reality competition show’s former location manager also was on the stand today. Derek Cunningham, who since has left the business, testified that he has been in fear for his life since “the whole scene, generally, from June 5, honestly, to right now.”

Four Boston Teamsters stand accused of trying to extort the show for driving jobs. All have pleaded not guilty.

“They swarmed her vehicle and surrounded it,” Ellie Carbajal, a longtime supervising producer on the show, told the jury today. “They were furious,” she said, noting that one of them, his angry face only inches away from Lakshmi’s passenger-side window, said to the others: “That’s the pretty one.

‘Top Chef’ Extortion Case: Feds Indict Wrong Teamster, Won’t Admit Mistake
Top Chef USA (2006)
The U.S. Attorney’s office in Massachusetts this week indicted the wrong man for harassing and threatening the cast and crew of Top Chef last year. Richard Jeffrey, one of the five members of Teamsters Local 25 indicted by the office Wednesday, had his charges quietly dropped. Another member of the Boston local, Michael Ross, was indicted in his stead.

It turns out that the two men look alike, and when prosecutors viewed crew members’ cell phone footage of the Top Chef incident, they mistook Jeffrey for Ross.

“They got the wrong guy,” Jeffrey’s attorney, Edward P. Ryan Jr., told Deadline. “It’s pathetic. When the police banged on his door at 5 Am, he thought it was the gas company coming to fix a problem in the neighborhood. They arrested my client at 5 Am and kept him in custody until 4:30 Pm.”

According to Ryan, the mistake first came...
