  • Fred Roos was an American film producer.
  • In 2007, he was a member of the jury at the 29th Moscow International Film Festival.
  • He started his career in television as a casting director for The Andy Griffith Show. Later, he produced most of Francis Ford Coppola's films subsequent to The Godfather, including Apocalypse Now and Youth Without Youth.
  • He attended Hollywood High School and subsequently attended University of California, Los Angeles, majoring in theatre arts and motion pictures.
  • He worked, either as producer or as part of the casting department, in eight films that were nominated for the Best Picture Oscar: Cinq pièces faciles (1970), Le Parrain (1972), American Graffiti (1973), Le Parrain, 2ᵉ partie (1974), Conversation secrète (1974), Apocalypse Now (1979), Le Parrain, 3e partie (1990) and Lost in Translation (2003). Of those, Le Parrain (1972) and Le Parrain (1972) are winners in the category.
