Peter Meyer, who represented the likes of Tom Hanks, James Caan and William Shatner as a talent agent at William Morris before spending the past three decades leading his own management firm, has died. He was 68.
Meyer died May 14 in his Los Angeles home after a five-year battle with sarcoma, his sister, writer-producer Patricia K. Meyer (The Women of Brewster Place), announced. Survivors also include his son Chris Meyer, a talent agent at CAA.

Comedy legend Carol Burnett will celebrate her 90th birthday and illustrious career in style on NBC. The broadcast network will air a two-hour special entitled “Carol Burnett: 90 Years of Laughter + Love” on Wednesday, April 26 at 8 p.m. Et.

Local TV sportscaster Fred Roggin is leaving NBC4 after more than four decades. His final appearance on the Los Angeles affiliate is set for Thursday, Jan. 26.
Roggin began at NBC4 in 1980 as a weekend sports anchor; two years later, he became the primary sports anchor/reporter at the station. Kcet won a leading six awards on Saturday night in a livestream ceremony to bestow the 2022 Los Angeles Area Emmy Awards. ABC7 and NBC4 followed with five wins apiece at the show hosted by Spectrum News 1 journalist Giselle Fernández from the Television Academy Plaza in North Hollywood.

Fritz Coleman, the face of weather forecasts on NBC4 Los Angeles for nearly 40 years, is retiring, the station said Wednesday. His last day on-air will be Friday, June 26.
Coleman, who works on the side as a stand-up comic, is known for mixing humor with his forecasts, as well as for his philanthropic work. Coleman joined NBC4 in 1982. For years, he worked alongside co-anchors Colleen Williams and Chuck Henry and Sports Anchor Fred Roggin, one of the longest-running news anchor teams in Los Angeles.

The public memorial service Monday for Los Angeles Lakers basketball legend Kobe Bryant and his daughter, Gianna, is sold out, and those not holding a ticket are being told to stay away from the Staples Center arena where the “Celebration of Life” will be held.
But those who didn’t get one of the coveted tickets can still see the service.
The memorial will start at 10 Am Pt and is expected to last until around 1 Pm. Viewing screens will not be activated outside the Staples Center, and the L.A. New York -- NBC Sports will put a wealth of experience into the field -- including input from 28 analysts who won a total of 42 medals in past Games -- for its 3,600 hours of Olympic coverage next month.
The network is expected to announce Wednesday that there will be a total of 106 commentators across the 17 days of the Summer Olympics from Beijing. That's more than ever before, just as the network is putting together substantially more live coverage (2,900 hours) than ever before on TV and the Web.
Bob Costas will return for his eighth Olympics, his seventh as primetime anchor of coverage. The afternoon coverage on NBC will be hosted by Jim Lampley, who will be announcing his 14th Olympics, a record among broadcasters. Mary Carillo will be the host of NBC's late-night coverage.
Telemundo's coverage will be hosted by Andres Cantor, Jessi Losada and Monica Noguera. CNBC and USA Network telecasts will be hosted by Alex Flanagan, along with Matt Vasgersian at USA. MSNBC anchors and hosts include Melissa Stark and Bill Patrick. Fred Roggin will host "Boxing in Beijing" on CNBC, while Lindsay Czarniak will host Oxygen's gymnastics coverage.
