Netflix's The Princess Switch: Switched Again - 10 Great Movies About Twins
Mike Rohl
Ever since debuting on Netflix on November 19, 2020, Mike Rohl's The Princess Switch: Switched Again has remained one of the streamer's trendiest titles. The sequel to the 2018 body-swapping family comedy, The Princess Switch, resumes the unlikely tale of Duchess Margaret (Vanessa Hudgens), a royal luminary who resorts to the help of a twin lookalike to get her out of a personal crisis. To make matters worse, a third doppelganger arrives and throws a wrench in the plan.

‘The Princess Switch: Switched Again’ Review: It’s Vanessa Hudgens Times Three in Cozy Netflix Sequel
Image
With Covid resurgence meaning that only the naughty are likely to risk large gatherings this holiday season, there will be even more reliance on home-viewing comfort food in the vein of “The Princess Switch: Switched Again.” Bringing back the same director, writers and lead actors from Netflix’s original 2018 success, this pleasant sequel provides the updated “Prince and the Pauper” conceit a new wrinkle in giving star Vanessa Hudgens yet a third lookalike character to play.

Though inevitably the formula wears a little thinner in spots this time, it’s a frothy fantasy that should satisfy viewers’ itch for confectionary-looking Christmas fluff. Netflix premieres the feature worldwide Nov. 19, and it should provide them with a year-end programming staple for some time to come.

As erstwhile Chicago baker Stacy (Hudgens) reminds us in opening-credits voiceover, when last seen she’d wound up a princess by catching the eye of Prince Edward...

'The Princess Switch: Switched Again' is out now.

Netflix has released the official trailer for the highly-anticipated sequel to 2018’s 'The Princess Switch' starring Vanessa Hudgens in a triple role.

The follow-up movie sees Hudgens divide her screen time into a trio of personas: Chicago-based pastry chef Stacy DeNovo, a Belgravian princess, and a new blonde troublemaker named Fiona., reports TVLine.

'The Princess Switch 2' follows Vanessa Hudgens reprise her dual roles from the first instalment as Duchess Margaret and Princess Stacy, two lookalikes who crossed paths when former commoner Stacy took part in a baking competition located in Montenaro.

After marrying Prince Edward (Sam Palladino), Stacy became a princess herself; meanwhile, Duchess Margaret's relationship with Stacy's best friend Kevin (Nick Sagar) hasn't fared well in the years since fans last saw them.

In this latest entry, Stacy (Hudgens) returns to Belgravia to help Margaret (also Hudgens!

Vanessa Hudgens Plays Triple Roles in ‘Princess Switch 2: Switched Again’ Trailer

Vanessa Hudgens is a triple threat in the new trailer for Netflix’s “The Princess Switch 2: Switched Again,” set to premiere on Nov. 19.

In “The Princess Switch” sequel, Hudgens will not only reprise her lead roles of Duchess Margaret and Princess Stacy, but also portray a third doppelganger, Margaret’s cousin Fiona. When Margaret unexpectedly inherits the throne to Montenaro, she also finds trouble in her long-distance relationship with her boyfriend, Kevin. Princess Stacy of Belgravia comes to the rescue, stepping in to help save the Duchess’ relationship.

“After I read it I thought, ‘Ooh man, this is going to be a lot of work,'” Hudgens told Entertainment Weekly. “Three of me? Me, myself, and I! ‘Princess Switch 2’ Trailer: Vanessa Hudgens and Vanessa Hudgens Swap Lives Again Before a 3rd Vanessa Hudgens Shows Up (Video)
Vanessa Hudgens
Netflix dropped the trailer for “The Princess Switch 2” on Monday, revealing not one, not two, but three royally fantastic roles for Vanessa Hudgens in the follow-up to the streaming service’s 2018 holiday movie. And with triple the fun what could go wrong? Well, a lot, apparently.

In the trailer for “The Princess Switch: Switched Again,” which you can view via the video above, Stacy (Hudgens) is determined to get Margaret (also Hudgens) back together with her former lover Kevin by pulling yet another switch. Vanessa Hudgens Pulls the Old Switcheroo in Netflix's Princess Switch Trailer
Who doesn't love a good switcheroo movie? Netflix obviously does, as they have just announced The Princess Switch as one of their big holiday releases. It stars Vanessa Hudgens and Vanessa Hudgens in a tale that is as old as rice, and still just as delicious.

There are two types of switcheroo movies that have become quite popular over the last couple of decades. The first is where two people swap bodies, as popularized in Freaky Friday and the dozen of copy cat comedies that arrived in its wake, including Like Father, Like Son and the much more recent The Change-Up. The second kind of switcheroo movie is where two dopplegangers discover each other, and wonder if the other's life might be better. So they swap places. The later is what we have here.

Vanessa Hudgens, who you loved as Candy in Harmony Korine's Spring Breakers, returns as a delightfully pampered duchess.

Vanessa Hudgens in Official Trailer for Netflix's 'The Princess Switch'
"I think we were destined to run into each other." Netflix has released an official trailer for another switch-places cute comedy titled The Princess Switch, starring Vanessa Hudgens in the two main roles. The romantic comedy is about Margaret, the gorgeous Duchess of Montenaro, who switches with a "commoner" from Chicago. With the assistance of a magical Santa's helper, Margaret falls in love with Stacy's handsome co-worker, while Stacy falls in love with Margaret's fiance, the dashing Prince. This reminds me a bit of the concept for the holiday romance The Holiday, also about people who switch then fall in love. The Princess Switch also stars Alexa Adeosun, Suanne Braun, Mark Fleischmann, Sam Palladio, & Nick Sagar. As expected, this looks extra cheesy and extra sweet, so if that's what you're looking for - then jump right in. Here's the first official trailer (+ poster) for Mike Rohl's The Princess Switch,...

Watch: Debbie Gibson Returns to TV in Summer of Dreams – and Debuts a New Song!
Debbie Gibson
From 1987 to 1990, Debbie Gibson was the teen pop princess. With 9 top 40 hits, 2 multiplatinum albums and constant video rotation on MTV, she was on top.

As the pop stardom inevitably cooled, Gibson found a home on Broadway. She made forays into reality TV and kept writing and recording music independently. She also worked with children in summer music camps.

Gibson drew on this experience to star in Summer of Dreams, a TV movie that will premiere on the Hallmark Channel on Aug. 27.

In the film, Gibson plays Debbie Taylor, a former pop star who moves to suburban Ohio to teach music...

Helix, Episode 1.07: “Survivor Zero” adds new complications to the facility
Meegwun Fairbrother, Luciana Carro, Mark Ghanimé

Helix, Season 1, Episode 07: “Survivor Zero”

Written by Sean Crouch

Directed by Mike Rohl

Airs Fridays at 10 Pm on Syfy

With the entrance of the Ilaria corporation, as well as the sudden change in Dr. Walker’s eyes to silver, last week’s episode set up a number of compelling developments in the ongoing story of Arctic Biosystems. This week’s episode examines the aftermath of both these developments, as well as the addition of another component to the facility’s already volatile mix, in another strong episode that puts Dr. Hatake in several crosshairs while still effectively maintaining the dangers of the vectors.

This week’s episode leaves Daniel in a very interesting position. Not only does he learn of the brewing fight between Constance and Dr. Hatake this week, his reunion with Anana also opens his eyes to an aspect of the...

Helix, Episode 1.06: “Aniqatiga” reveals more about the facility
Kyra Zagorsky

Helix, Season 1, Episode 06: “Aniqatiga”

Written by Adam Lash and Cori Uchida

Directed by Mike Rohl

Airs Fridays at 10 Pm on Syfy

With Major Balleseros left for dead, and Dr. Farragut discovering that Doreen was murdered, last week’s events proved more clearly than ever that the Cdc could not rely on anyone telling them the truth. The discovery of Dr. Hvit proved that the facility had a lot of secrets that went beyond the nature of the virus. This week’s episode delves into some darker secrets being hidden, in a strong episode that brings Dr. Farragut and Dr. Jordan up to speed while introducing new elements into the mix.

The presence of Anana is an intriguing new wrinkle, particularly in its implications. While other scientists have expressed a fear of Dr. Hatake and the facility before, there’s never been any indication that the people at...

Eureka Ep. #5.04 – “Friendly Fire” sparks awkward feelings between characters
Eureka, Season 5, Episode 4, “Friendly Fire”

Written by Amy Berg

Directed by Mike Rohl

Airs Mondays at 9pm Et on SyFy

Things mostly get back to normal on Eureka as the main characters work together to resolve the case-of-the-week. “Friendly Fire” has the perfect mix of sci-fi, drama, and comedy that has kept Eureka a consistently entertaining show for several years.

This week’s major issue involves a fiery element created by minor character Dr. Parrish (Wil Wheaton) that escapes the labs and attacks heat-emitting sources throughout town. It turns out all of the characters who were tapped into the Matrix in the previous few episodes are continuing to emit “zeta waves” in their brain which are having negative effects on things like the fiery element and Carter’s house S.A.R.A.H. It is unclear at this point whether these residual zeta waves are internally dangerous, but they...

Eureka Ep. #5.03 – “Force Quit” concludes a three-part story arc
Eureka, Season 5, Episode 3, “Force Quit”

Written by Terri Hughes Burton and Ron Milbauer

Directed by Mike Rohl

Airs Mondays at 9pm Et on SyFy

The three-part arc that has found the Astraeus crew trapped in a virtual world comes to a predictable conclusion this week as the crew is rescued. Though the impending results are obvious, “Force Quit” is still an exciting episode that moves at a rigorous pace.

Beverly comes to Eureka to help Carter, Henry, and Lupo find the captives. Carter taps into the Matrix where he must cause a system overload that would help Henry and Lupo trace the signal and find the crew. Inside the Matrix, Carter convinces Zane, Allison, Grace, and Fargo that he is the real Carter and they are trapped in a virtual world. They work together to blow up the virtual Astraeus, causing a spike in the Matrix that crashes the system.

Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki in Supernatural (2005)
Laura Prudom: 'Supernatural' Recap: Castiel Returns And Sam Breaks Down Again
Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki in Supernatural (2005)
Note: Do not read on if you have not seen Season 7, Episode 17 of The CW's "Supernatural," entitled "The Born-Again Identity."

Demons and angels and ghosts, oh my!

From what I've observed in our comments sections and via Twitter over the past few months, Castiel's return has been heralded with both anticipation and dread, depending on which part of fandom you occupy. But to me, "The Born-Again Identity" exemplified all the things that "Supernatural" does best: emphasizing the brotherly bond that holds the show together; highlighting the excellence of the supporting characters; showcasing the dramatic chops of its actors; and proving that an emotional through-line is all it really takes to make a story resonate. The episode didn't overtly advance the overarching leviathan plot (although it was clearly laying necessary groundwork for stories to come). It instead focused on our characters' internal struggles, reminding us that no matter how dire the circumstances,...

Geek Gossip: Vampire Diaries star Sarah Canning in Primeval spin-off, Netflix in rescue bid for Terra Nova
Actress Sara Canning, best known for playing Jenna Sommers in The Vampire Diaries, is to star in Primeval: New World.

The show is a "darker, scarier" north American spin-off of ITV's hit dino-drama Primeval.

Canning (right), who's also appeared in Smallville and Supernatural, will play a predator attack expert, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Also cast in the new series is Niall Matter (Stargate: Atlantis, Watchmen, 90210, A Town Called Eureka), who is playing an inventor and 'visionary hero'.

Miranda Frigon (Sanctuary, Supernatural, Dexter, V), Geoff Gustafson (2012, Hot Tub Time Machine) and Danny Rahim (EastEnders, Young James Herriot) round out the regular cast. Andrew-Lee Potts, who played Connor in the original UK series, is confirmed as a guest star.

Stargate and Sanctuary star Amanda Tapping will join Andy Mikita, Martin Wood and Mike Rohl in directing episodes of Primeval: New World.

Production bowed in Vancouver on March 7 on the 13-episode series,...
