Good news!  Alfons Adetuyi's High Chicago, the film stars black British thespian Colin Salmon, has secured a June 21, 2013 theatrical opening date in New York, Los Angeles and Chicago, to be distributed by Applied Arts Releasing. George Hickenlooper directs this look at convicted lobbyist Jack Abramoff, on Blu-ray and DVD April 5th

The infamous Jack Abramoff was a Washington, D.C. lobbyist and businessman whose involvement in a massive corruption scandal landed him, two White House officials, and nine other lobbyist behind bars. In director George Hickenlooper's last movie Casino Jack, Kevin Spacey stars as Jack Abramoff in a tale that recounts the man's notorious fall from grace.

Sadly, George Hickenlooper died right before the movie's theatrical release last year. Today, in support of the Casino Jack Blu-ray and DVD debut, which hit store shelves on April 5th, we talked with Jon Lovitz, who plays Adam Kidan opposite Kevin Spacey. In 2005, Kidan pled guilty, alongside Abramoff, to fraud charges in relation to his 2000 purchase of SunCruz, a casino cruise line.

'Score: A Hockey Musical' Will Open the 2010 Toronto Int'l Film Festival
Today, it was announced at Canada's Hockey Hall of Fame that the 2010 Toronto International Film Festival's opening film will be none other than the Canadian film Score: A Hockey Musical. Moreover, this film by director Michael McGowan (One Week) will hit Canada's theatres on October 2.

In this film, Olivia Newton-John (Grease) and songwriter Marc Jordan both play the parents of a teenager (Noah Reid). This kid's mom home-schools him, feeds him with organic foods, takes him to the art gallery and becomes dismayed when he reveals a love for Canada's most popular sport (i.e. hockey) even though he has never played in an organized league. Moreover, with his talent, this kid will get out of obscurity to become a hockey celebrity overnight.

Grant Bowler Lands The Killer Elite and The City of Gardens
Grant Bowler joins The Killer Elite and The City of GardensTrue Blood's Grant Bowler has been cast in the action feature The Killer Elite and indie drama The City of Gardens.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, The Killer Elite centers on the real-life efforts of a private British vigilante group to eliminate a band of contract killers. Bowler will play Capt. James Cregg, an Sas officer and war hero who is one of the targets.

The Killer Elite begins shooting this month in Australia.

Filming this month in Peru, the Camilo Vila-directed The City of Gardens centers on a young California surfer in 1980 who is framed and thrown in a Peruvian jail for political prisoners before escaping.

The "True Blood" actor has picked up roles in action feature "The Killer Elite" and indie drama "The City of Gardens," both shooting abroad this month.
