Sarah Ripard in Desperate Housewives (2004)
As an artist and entrepreneur, and never to shy away from challenging topics, Sarah Ripard's diverse body of work reflects her passion to continue collaborating with high caliber filmmakers and artists who examine and deepen an awareness of the human condition, the world, and have the vision and courage to bring the poetry of their dreams to life on the screen and stage. Over the years she's built an eclectic resume that juxtaposes drama and comedy from ancient texts, mysticism to modern-day street-life characters.

Sarah believes engaging storytelling has the power to change the way we view ourselves and the outside world from which we have come.

Sarah is the Creator/Executive Producer/Host of PARENTAINMENT: Empower, Educate and Entertain. A revelatory new TV docu-talk show focused on investing in the future of humanity and leading-edge human development and what it really takes to raise healthy, self-regulating, compassionate human citizens in the modern world.

Born in Malta in 1981 to parents Nessa Busjeet and Frances Ripard, who divorced when she was very young, Sarah was raised by her Mother in England, who then remarried Vinod Busjeet which moved them both to the United States.

Sarah hails from a rich cultural heritage spanning several continents and languages. She is of Maltese, Mauritian, Northeast African, French, Sicilian-Italian and Indian ancestry.

Coming from four generations of an acting family tradition as performing artists, filmmakers, musicians, and social activists, the artistic road was in Sarah's blood from the very beginning. Her paternal grandmother, Mary Ripard, was the respected Maltese film/tv/theatre actress and opera singer. Her maternal grandmother, Jamilla Casmally, was the angelic voice of classical Indian music who soared across the Mauritian radio airwaves.

With Sarah's chameleon abilities to transform into a variety of roles in film, television and theatre, she has played parts ranging from; the great heroines of Shakespeare and Greek, a hardened criminal, Goddess Aphrodite, a freedom fighter, a grieving mother, The Buddha, to a broken-hearted streetwalker from the inner city, to name a few.

Over the years Sarah has worked with her dear friend, mentor and artistic colleague, Clayton LeBouef of, Something the Lord Made (2004), Homicide: Life on the Street(1993) and Allergic to Nuts (2003).

On Broadway, Sarah originated the role of ''Kitty DeSouza'' as well as performed 'Shanti' and covered 'Rani' in Andrew Lloyd Webber's Broadway extravaganza production of Bombay Dreams at the Broadway Theatre, New York.

She has received favorable acting reviews from national and international newspapers and numerous acting awards including the prestigious Helen Hayes Award nomination for her unique theatre portrayal as 'Mme. DeTourvel' in 'Dangerous Liaisons'.

Sarah attended the distinguished Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, England and spent precious time with worldwide renowned mime master Marcel Marceau.

While working in Washington, DC, she taught at Latin Dancer Inc. with Bolivian-born dance artiste Humberto where they also performed together in the styles of Rumba, Cha Cha, Argentine Tango, Foxtrot, Salsa, Cumbia, and Waltz.

In the United States, Sarah has worked in film, television and theatre with notable companies in Los Angeles, Washington DC and New York including: ABC, CBS, NBC, TNT, The Disney Channel, LifeTime Channel, Classic Media, Sixth Sense Prod., Tribeca Film Center, The Kennedy Center, The Folger Shakespeare Theatre, Arena Stage, The Wolf Trap, The Smithsonian Institute, John Anson Ford Amphitheatre, Los Angeles Classic Theatre Company, Lobero Theatre and many more...

Sarah produced and starred in the critically acclaimed West Coast World Premiere of Convergence, a beautiful, lyrical full-length drama surrounding the ongoing tragic events of the Palestinian/Israeli conflict, which she has visions of making into a feature film one day.

At the end of it all, Sarah's greatest production and accomplishment is her role as Mother, to her daughter Anastasia, who teaches her every day what it means to BE truly HUMAN!
