Born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and raised in New Jersey, Cameron moved to New York to pursue a modeling career. It wasn't long before her agents recommended she try acting. She broke into the business with her work on the USA Network original series FBI Family (2000). She landed the part on her very first audition.
