Spoilers for "Alien: Earth" to follow.
The franchise may be called "Alien," but the face-hugging, chest-bursting, penis-headed little monsters have always only been half of the equation. Androids, from Ash (Ian Holm) in the 1979 original "Alien" to David (Michael Fassbender) in "Prometheus," have always been just as important to "Alien" as a property. The FX series "Alien: Earth" honors that tradition and explores different types of androids, too.
The first "Alien: Earth" episode's introductory text reveals that, in 2120, "the race for immortality will come in three guises." First, cyborgs, or humans enhanced with cybernetic parts. Second, androids, or beings who are completely synthetic in mind and body. Then, finally, hybrids, or human minds fully uploaded into synthetic bodies, "Ghost in the Shell" style.

Gen Z Helps Disney Hit $63 Billion in 2024 Merch Sales: Looking Back on a Century of Licensing Magic
Disney won’t go broke anytime soon. The Disney licensing empire dazzles with 2024 sales, merchandising magic, and a century of innovation.
The Tl;Dr…
$63 Billion Haul: Disney topped 2024 with $63 billion in licensed sales, owning 20% of the $307.9 billion global market.
Mickey’s Start: The licensing magic began in 1929 with Mickey Mouse tablets, growing to a $600,000 empire by 1934.
Quirky Classics: Donald Duck Orange Juice and Peter Pan Peanut Butter turned characters into nostalgic food favorites.
2024 Standouts: Lilo & Stitch ($2.6 billion), Star Wars, and Bluey led the charge, with a 14% profit jump in Q2 2025.
Future Shine: Gen Z (27% of 2025 sales) and integrated experiences keep Disney’s merchandising magic alive.
Disney might “go woke” but they likely won’t ever “go broke.” At least not anytime soon.
The Walt Disney Company has once again claimed the throne as the world’s top licensor, hauling in a magical $63 billion in retail sales of licensed consumer...

The twisted horror trend of beloved childhood characters turning into murderous figures carries on. Minnie Mouse is the latest Disney icon to trade in spreading cheer for a thirst for blood, thanks to copyright law. She joins the likes of Winnie-the-Pooh, Piglet, Peter Pan, Bambi, and others in a growing public-domain horror genre. Per Deadline, filming on the low-budget slasher Minnie's Midnight Massacre has wrapped.
Written and directed by Brett Bentman (90 Feet From Home), this feature sees Minnie embarking on a "killing spree when seeking revenge against the childhood bullies who tortured her as a teenager." Hannah Huston (Stiletto) stars in the feature, and a first-look image reveals someone (who may or may not be Huston) donning a Minnie mask, complete with a blood-splattered white tulle skirt, and clutching a knife. Check it out below.
ITN Productions
Minnie Mouse entered the public domain on January 1, 2024, after making her debut in 1928's animated Steamboat Willie.

Some childhood stories will always be gentle reminders of a much simpler time. Many involve human-like animals, prince and princess characters, and more. They represent fairytale worlds that include real-life lessons and are just some of the earliest ways to help children turn their imagination into creativity. Lately, however, a few of those beloved generational stories have turned into gruesome films, scary enough to make all rethink the actual meaning behind stories they grew up adoring. The 2025 horror film Peter Pan's Neverland Nightmare is one of them, and now it can be watched in the comfort (or discomfort) of movie lovers' own homes.
If you secretly love this version of Peter Pan and want to watch it again or can handle true fright, the film is now available to buy or rent on Prime Video. Peter Pan's Neverland Nightmare turns the warm story of "the boy who wouldn't grow up" into a child-snatching,...

Disney Dreamlight Valley has just shared the first official teaser for its Summer 2025 update, and it seems like there might be more to this update than originally anticipated. Per the initial 2025 Road Map revealed at the start of the year, fans have pretty much confirmed that the summer update will be centered around Peter Pan. While originally thought to take place around or inside Skull Rock primarily, this new hint might prove otherwise.
Shared via Disney Dreamlight Valley's official Instagram account and other social media platforms, the Summer update teaser comes in the form of an image featuring an old treasure map, where an X marks the spot. The text attached to the image, indicating that "someone dropped this," could mean the addition of more than just Peter Pan himself, as there's another character from this franchise who has been known to use a treasure map or two.

Warning: The following story contains spoilers about the fifth episode of Hacks Season 4, "Clickable Face."
Don't worry, Conan O'Brien is alive and kicking (or doing the string dance) in the Hacks universe.
In Thursday's episode, "Clickable Face," Jimmy Kimmel, playing a version of himself, confronts Deborah (Jean Smart) after the latter poaches Kristen Bell to be a guest on her talk show in an effort to attract women 25-45, her weakest demographic. An enraged Kimmel tells Deborah that Bell, who is promoting the live-action Tinker Bell movie, always does his show when she's on a press tour because "I got full custody when Conan died."
But fret not. "Conan's not dead," co-creator and co-showrunner Lucia Aniello assures Gold Derby.
"We need to get this out there," co-creator and co-showrunner Jen Statsky adds. "What Jimmy Kimmel means when he says that is that you're as good as dead if you don't have a late-night show.

Forget everything you thought you knew about Neverland. Altitude has announced the release of Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare on DVD, Blu-ray and digital platforms across the UK and Ireland from 28 April. The latest terrifying entry from the growing Twisted Childhood Universe reimagines J. M. Barrie’s iconic boy who never grew up as a menacing, blood-soaked predator, with no hint of the magic or innocence audiences once knew.
Directed and written by Scott Chambers, Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare continues the macabre tradition established by the success of Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey. This time it is Wendy Darling who steps into the spotlight, determined to rescue her brother Michael after he is abducted by Peter Pan himself. However, the Neverland they are drawn into is a far cry from the whimsical adventures of children’s books. Here, pixie dust is swapped for hard drugs, and the legendary Tinker Bell...

The first trailer for the next installment in the Poohniverse, officially known as The Twisted Childhood Universe (Tcu), has been released. After Winnie-the-Pooh and Peter Pan, Bambi is the next beloved children's character to get the horror parody treatment from the team behind Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey.
Variety debuted the official trailer for Bambi: The Reckoning, as well as the synopsis for the horror movie, which reads as follows: "In this very twisted take on the Bambi story, our deer — now not simply grief-stricken over the death of his mother but also mutated, effing enormous and sporting an array of sharp, terrifying teeth — embarks on a deadly rampage through the woods seeking revenge. He throws cars into the air with his giant antlers, charges into otherwise lovely-looking country houses and chases after holidaying families in caravans. Following the release of a divisive viral video by Selena Gomez early last week, the Trump Administration has made a brutal clapback at the Only Murders in the Building actress. In a social media post shared by the official White House account, three mothers are seen opening up about how illegal immigrants in the country were responsible for the deaths of their daughters. To emphasize its point, the post tagged Gomez specifically in the message.
Gomez received a lot of backlash for her original post, which opened with her saying, “I’m so sorry. I wish I could do something, but I can’t. I don’t know what to do. I’ll try everything, I promise.” This was in response to the numerous Ice raids that led to the arrest and subsequent deportation of those living illegally in the country, and the promise that border crossings from Mexico will be stopped at all costs.

Peter Pan and Winnie the Pooh existing in the same cinematic universe might seem strange enough, but how about both of them going on murderous rampages? Peter Pan's Neverland Nightmare, directed and written by Scott Chambers, is the third installment in Jagged Edge Productions'"Twisted Childhood Universe" (Tcu). Peter Pan's Neverland Nightmare was preceded by Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey (2023) and Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey II (2024), which, if you could not discern from the titles, see the beloved children's character Winnie the Pooh (originally from the books by A.A. Milne and E. H Shephard) turn violent.
The Tcu, or "Poohniverse" as it is also called, is all the brain-child of British filmmaker Rhys Frake-Waterfield. When Winnie the Pooh (which was originally published in 1926) entered the public domain in 2022, the material became fair game for a horror spin. Now, the Razzie-winning series shows no signs of stopping and...

Since her dazzling introduction to audiences all across the world in the 1953 animated classic Peter Pan, the feisty and hot-headed fairy Tinker Bell has become the unofficial mascot of Disney and is one of the studio's most instantly recognizable characters, even being warmly regarded as "a symbol of 'the magic of Disney.'" In 2008, the lovable Hollywood legend was given her very own film franchise with the Disney Fairies series, with each of the six installments being produced by DisneyToon Studios between 2008 and 2015.
The enchanting franchise serves as both a prequel and spin-off to Peter Pan and throughout its impressive run went on to gross $493 million worldwide against a $120-$140 million budget, with four of its six entries receiving a theatrical release. This week sees the limited run of Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare, which may be the darkest installment in the Tcu to date and arguably the goriest.
While the Blood and Honey films openly embraced the aesthetic of ‘80s slashers like Friday the 13th, Neverland Nightmare draws clear inspiration from modern hits like The Black Phone, It, and the grimy, unpleasant aesthetic of Eli Roth’s body of work. Martin Portlock and Kit Green are taking on two classic children's characters with a terrifying twist in Peter Pan's Neverland Nightmare. Portlock and Green suit up as Peter Pan and Tinker Bell, respectively. Instead of being the cheery guides to Neverland that audiences know them to be, Peter Pan is a serial-killing kidnapper, while Tinker Bell is a drug-addicted henchman.
Peter Pan's Neverland Nightmare is the latest installment in the Twisted Childhood Universe, an interconnected franchise of classic children's characters with a slasher spin. The Scott Chambers-produced world began in 2023 with Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey and is set to continue with projects like Bambi: The Reckoning and Pinnochio: Unstrung. All installments are building to a crossover film, Poohniverse: Monsters. Assembled, which is planned to go into production this summer.

In a small way, the micro-budgeted U.K. indie “Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey” more than pulled its weight in drawing audiences back to theaters two years ago. The bad-taste concept and trailer generated guilty-pleasure viral traction; then the Fathom Events theatrical window was so short, there was no chance for word-of-mouth to spoil the fun. Which was fortunate, as the film itself was an amateurish slog.
You have to give the filmmakers credit, though: They swallowed all criticism (including an impressive sweep of the Golden Raspberries), vowing to plow their considerable profits into making better movies …albeit in the same vein. Last year’s “Honey” sequel was reportedly a significant improvement. Now there’s “Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare,” a nasty piece of work — in the sense that it appeals to horror fans with a strong stomach not just for gore but truly unpleasant ideas.

Plot: Wendy Darling strikes out in an attempt to rescue her brother Michael from ‘the clutches of the evil Peter Pan.’ Along the way she meets Tinkerbell, who will be seen taking heroin, believing that it’s pixie dust.
Review: It’s always very ambitious for a franchise to announce its plans way ahead of time. It certainly has bit Marvel on the butt, but if you’re going to parody their release schedule, you have to do things full bore. And I think most of us at least chuckled when the Poohniverse was announced. So smack dab in the middle of their release lies Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare, a horror take on the J.M. Barrie classic. And it’s a hell of a lot darker than expected.
Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare is a very dark and twisted take on Peter Pan as he sucks the souls out of children to remain youthful.

Back when ‘Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey’ was released and promptly got decimated with bad reviews, no one anticipated that it was going to earn a ton of money and kickstart a massive cinematic franchise that aims to destroy your childhood memories. But alas, we are here and preparing for the latest installment in ‘Poohniverse’ officially known as ‘The Twisted Childhood Universe.’

Scott Chambers is in the director's chair for Peter Pan's Neverland Nightmare. The latest installment in the Twisted Childhood Universe, a film franchise that also includes horror-ified takes on classic children's characters like Winnie-the-Pooh, follows versions of Peter Pan (Martin Portlock) and Tinker Bell (Kit Green) who abduct children in order to bring them to Neverland.

The narrative of “Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare” opens with a spooky reimagining of familiar characters: Wendy Darling and her younger brother Michael, who are now trapped in a world distorted by horror. Michael, a symbol of childhood fragility, is the target of a malevolent force.
At the same time, Wendy, on the verge of adulthood, represents a touching combination of innocence and growing strength. In this story, Peter Pan is not the carefree, whimsical figure of old but a dangerous adult who personifies predation and manipulation while posing as a beloved childhood figure.
When Michael is kidnapped, it becomes very clear what set off the events that led to Wendy’s dangerous quest, which was driven by love and despair. This moment ignites her transformation from passive observer to fierce protector, which serves as a catalyst. Wendy’s dangerous journey to save her brother takes her through a dangerous landscape...

More characters keep joining the upcoming massive horror crossover event Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble, and the most recent character update raises the stakes for the film but comes with a huge risk. The superhero genre is credited for the popularity of connected universes, and an unlikely one was formed not long ago in the horror genre. In 2023, Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey was released, a horror version of the beloved children’s character who entered the public domain a year before. Despite not being the critics’ favorite, Blood and Honey’s popularity made way for a franchise appropriately named The Twisted Childhood Universe.
The idea for the Twisted Childhood Universe is to produce horror movies centered around characters from children’s media, such as Peter Pan and Bambi. The purpose of this is for all of them to meet in a massive crossover event titled Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble, projected for a 2025 release.

The Twisted Childhood Universe has been one of the most fascinating introductions to the horror genre in recent years, and Peter Pan's Neverland Nightmare is its latest installment. Created by Rhys Frake-Waterfield, the franchise is composed of interconnected stories bringing horror-driven takes on iconic children's characters that are available in the public domain. The franchise began with the critically maligned Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey and continued with its generally better-received sequel, while six other movies are in various states of development and production.
Peter Pan's Neverland Nightmare is a fantasy-horror film from the team at Jagged Edge Productions, the same group behind other horror parody films such as Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey. The film is a terrifying retelling of the original tale penned by J.M. Barrie in 1911.

The Twisted Childhood Universe continues to expand, and as it continues to add more children’s characters with a horror twist to bring them all together in a crossover event, a new character has been teased to join – and thanks to that, a wild theory about them can come true but with a key twist. The 2023 horror movie Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey boosted a trend in horror of making horror versions of children’s characters and stories. Despite being a critical failure, Blood and Honey made way for a sequel and started a shared universe called Twisted Childhood Universe.
The point of the Twisted Childhood Universe is to bring more horror versions of children’s characters, with each movie leading up to a crossover event titled Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble. So far, the characters confirmed to appear in Poohniverse are Winnie-the-Pooh and his friends, Bambi, Peter Pan, Tinker Bell, Hook, Pinocchio,...

Characters are an immeasurably important part of the films they populate, and oftentimes, great writing can turn characters who are objectively terrible people into lovable parts of their stories. Some of the best movies of all time have characters such as these, equal parts charming as they are dastardly. However, most of all, these characters have managed to stay memorable, even if some of them were created decades ago.
In stark contrast to the best heroes in films or even the greatest best friend duos in movies, characters who are bad people may have even more qualities that make them both real and relatable. Their negative qualities have become a part of their legacy, even if viewers have begun to forget about them over time. Yet characters like Tinkerbell and Jack Sparrow are still terrible people, even if they are generally beloved by their audiences.

Disney Dreamlight Valley has a plethora of adorable animal companions, both in the game and offered as items to purchase during limited-time events. The expansion pass for A Rift in Time introduced capybaras as one of the creatures that players could offer food to in order to befriend and add to their pet collection, but a recent leak makes it look like a new one may be joining the game soon. A Tinker Bell-inspired capybara would certainly be a premium item, but one that may players would happily spend moonstones to get.

Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey horror crossover Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble is bringing together characters like Pooh, Bambi, Pinocchio, and Peter Pan from the Twisted Childhood Universe. The movie is set to begin filming in March.
While details about the story are still a secret, the slasher film will show the monsters teaming up to face survivors from previous movies.
The franchise’s first installment, Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey, was met with a negative critical reception and a more mixed fan reception, though it turned a profit at the box office.
The movie’s quality was called into question, with criticisms directed at the script, acting, cinematography, and lack of humor; it also received five Golden Raspberry Awards. In response to this, Frake-Waterfield stated that he is determined to raise the standard with the future films in the franchise.

For the past couple of years, Disney World has rewarded its annual passholders with magnets. The magnets have become sort of a fun collectible, each featuring a special character and design.
Over the years we've seen magnets inspired by Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, Simba, Figment, Tinker Bell and more. The only downside to these magnets is that Disney World typically now requires you to visit one of its parks during a select period of time.
This is usually find if you're a local, but for those who live a few hours (or even further) away, it can be a bit of a hassle. Still, the magnets are appeciated by passholders as one of the rare few perks we still receive.
Well, it seems Disney is feeling a bit cheery this holiday season. Maybe it's the improved earnings report, but Disney is in the mood for giving.

Dan Lovinger, who supervised an increasingly complex Olympics ad-sales effort for NBCUniversal and delivered what is believed to be a record level of Madison Avenue sponsorship for the recent Paris Olympics, is leaving the company as it seeks to revamp its efforts to lure advertisers to sports.
NBCU in 2022 assigned Lovinger to a new role overseeing all efforts to sell ads for the Olympics and Paralympics, separating him from the rest of the company’s sports sales. With NBC’s recent pact to secure NBA rights, however, the company sees sports as a significantly bigger driver of its business, and wants to have Olympics deals and other sports sponsorships sold in tandem in a bid to sell bigger packages.

She can fly, she can fly, she can fly! Get a breakdown of every time Tinker Bell appears in a feature film from Disney.
Disney may have brought Tinker Bell into pop culture in the early ‘50s, but the tiny but feisty, winged pixie got her start in the 1904 stage play Peter Pan; or, the Boy Who Wouldn’t Grow Up written by J.M. Barrie.
Since then, Tink has largely escaped Peter Pan’s shadow (no pun intended) and become an icon in her own right, appearing in countless animated series and movies.

In J.M. Barrie's original 1904 play "Peter and Wendy," the fairy Tinker Bell was typically represented by a powerful spotlamp, reflected onto the stage by a small hand mirror. Her dialogue was a series of small jingle bells, shaken offstage. When Barrie adapted his play into a 1911 novel, Tinker Bell remained mute, although she was able to participate in the action more closely. In the first film adaptation of Barrie's work, Herbert Brenson's 1924 film "Peter Pan," Tinker Bell was a light dangled by a string in long shots but actor Virginia Browne Faire in close-ups, either filmed against outside sets or composited into the frame.
In 1953, directors Hamilton Luske, Clyde Geronimi, and Wilfred Jackson brought Pan to life in the celebrated animated film "Peter Pan," released by the Walt Disney Company. In that film, Tinker Bell was also mute, but could be animated as a miniature person in most of her scenes,...

The number of Hollywood feuds is practically unfathomable, and it's not always easy to keep up with the latest beef. Though problems often arise between co-stars when the cameras turn off, disagreements have been known to happen between directors and actors. The tabloids had a field day with Julia Roberts and Kiefer Sutherland during their notorious relationship, a distraction that caused a lot of tension on Steven Spielberg's Hook set in 1991. Spielberg accused Roberts of poor behavior on set, but it's almost hard to imagine when looking back at both of their careers because neither of them seems to have endured any further instances of that nature since.
These types of feuds are notorious, however, with one of the most well-known being the heated tensions that flared between Kramer vs. Kramer costars Dustin Hoffman and Meryl Streep. Hoffman a noted Method actor verbally and physically harassed Streep, later confessing...
