Eight people who found guilty of crimes including robbery in an organized gang, kidnapping, acquisition and possession of weapons, aggravated theft, complicity in preparation of a criminal act, sequestration and assisting an armed gang on Friday in Paris, concluding a high-profile trial recounting the armed robbery of Kim Kardashian. Kardashian was tied up and robbed of upwards of $6 million in jewelry in her Paris rental apartment in 2016.

Aomar Aït Khedache, the alleged ringleader of the gang — who were nicknamed “Grandpa robbers,” as most of them are older than 60 — was sentenced to eight years in prison, five of which were suspended, per CNN. Seven co-defendants were also found guilty and received prison sentences on various counts, though all of them will walk due to time already served. Two defendants were acquitted on charges of complicity, though one was ordered to pay 5,000 euros to Kardashian and the concierge of her apartment building.

Hipgnosis Song Management has bought up a song catalogue from superstar music artist and songwriter Justin Bieber.

Terms of the catalog deal with Bieber’s longtime manager Scooter Braun were not disclosed, but the transaction gives the song investment company all publishing copyrights and master recordings for Bieber’s entire back catalog and career to date, or around 290 titles previously released.

Artists like Bieber, Bob Dylan, David Bowie’s estate and Stevie Nicks have sold their song catalogs to music labels as they in turn look to cash in on royalties, licensing, brand deals and other alternative revenue streams. As part of the Bieber deal, the artist’s recorded music masters will continue to be owned by Universal Music Group.

Kim Kardashian's launch of her new skincare brand Skkn By Kim is proving to be less smooth than desired. New York businesswoman and esthetician Cydnie Lunsford has sued the reality star for trademark infringement over the "Skkn" name. Kardashian's lawyer, Michael Rhodes, denied any wrongdoing by his client and has vowed to fight the case in court. "We think the case is less about the law of trademarks and more about trying to leverage a settlement by threatening to harm Ms. Kardashian's name and reputation," he said in a statement to E! News. Michael Rhoades of Hilaleah, Florida, is trying to make sense of what happened to his dog Barney.

According to Local News 10, who reported the story, the man came out of his house on Saturday to find his Malinois in extreme discomfort and a postal worker standing nearby.

“I come out and I say, ‘Hey, did you just mace my dog?’ because he was writhing in pain on the ground,” Rhoades told the news station. “And she’s like, ‘Yes, I did.'”
