25 greatest ‘Charmed’ episodes, ranked worst to best [Photos]

On October 7, 1998, a series premiered that would go on to “charm” viewers for eight years. The Halliwell sisters find out they are powerful witches, who must use their combined “Powers of Three” to protect innocents and save the world from the dark side. Shannen Doherty, Holly Marie Combs, Alyssa Milano and (later) Rose McGowan took on the roles of Prue, Piper, Phoebe and Paige, and made “Charmed” one of the biggest hits for the fledgling WB network.

SEEEmmys: Top 14 scariest acting wins of all time

The sisters evolve as witches, with powers strengthening and changing, which often leads to some of the funniest moments of the series – such as Piper learning to control her new ability to blow things up instead of just freezing them, and Phoebe adjusting to her active power of levitation. From a demon that preys on fear, to one who brings horror movies to life, to...

Slumber Party Massacre II (1987) – Awfully Good Horror Movies
Juliette Cummins, Atanas Ilitch, and Heidi Kozak Haddad in Slumber Party Massacre II (1987)
It’s time for a new episode of the Awfully Good Horror Movies video series, and in this one we’re looking back at a personal favorite of mine. A movie that I feel fits the description of “awfully good” perfectly. That movie is the 1987 release Slumber Party Massacre II (watch it Here), and you can hear all about it by checking out the video embedded above!

Written and directed by Deborah Brock, Slumber Party Massacre II has the following synopsis: The only sane survivor of Slumber Party Massacre, Courtney dreams of the drill murderer returning. She can’t shake the horrible feeling that she and her friends will be viciously tormented and brutally butchered. Again and again the nightmare returns. Dazed, Courtney loses control. And her nightmare crosses into reality. No one believes her, until it’s too late. The driller killer returns, reincarnated as an evil rocker. He...

The Slumber Party Massacre & Slumber Party Massacre II get double feature 4K Uhd release
Image
Scream Factory has announced that they will be giving the 1982 slasher classic The Slumber Party Massacre (watch it Here) and its bonkers 1987 sequel Slumber Party Massacre II (watch that one Here) – which I enjoy even more than the first movie – a double feature 4K Uhd release on February 21st. And copies are already available for pre-order at This Link!

Directed by Amy Holden Jones from a screenplay by Rita Mae Brown, The Slumber Party Massacre has the following synopsis: When Trish decides to invite her high school girls’ basketball teammates over for a slumber party, she has no idea the night is going to end with an unexpected guest – an escaped mental patient and his portable power drill – crashing the party.

The film stars Michele Michaels, Robin Stille, Michael Villella, Debra Deliso, Andree Honore, Gina Mari, Jennifer Meyers, Pamela Roylance, and Brinke Stevens.

Written and directed by Deborah Brock, Slumber...

Steven Tyler Opens Up About How His Addiction Battle in the '80s Led Him to Start New Charity Helping Abused Girls
Steven Tyler
It's been almost 30 years since Steven Tyler first dreamed up the title lyric to the 1989 Aerosmith hit "Janie's Got a Gun," a song about a girl who shoots her father in a desperate effort to end his sexual abuse. Now the tune, which derived from Tyler's own experience meeting victims of sexual abuse in rehab while struggling to overcome his addictions in the '80s, has new legs, thanks to the rocker's Janie's Fund, a foundation that helps provide resources for victims in need. "I think this is what I was born to do," Tyler tells People in this week's issue.

Watch: Your Nunsploitation Fix For the Day (Plus Our Five Favorite Movies Featuring Kickass Nuns)
The power of Christ impales the man in this video who is a human punching bag for a group of nuns practicing their Karate and Aikido moves. Check out the video below, which we truly hope is real, and then dig into five other films that feature ass-kicking nuns. Night of the Demons 2 Sister Gloria (the awesome Jennifer Rhodes) is the snarky nun with nunchakus and a stealthy ruler who guards the students of St. Rita's from the demonic Angela. Night of the Demons 2 (1994)
Directed by: Brian Trenchard-Smith

Written by: Joe Augustyn, James Penzi

Cast: Merle Kennedy, Amelia Kinkade, Cristi Harris, Rick Peters, Jennifer Rhodes, Christine Taylor

Released on home video in 1994, Night of the Demons 2 is a bit of a surprise. The MPAA had spent the past decade beating up horror films is response to the slasher craze. The failure of the new Nc-17 rating was becoming evident, as most theaters and newspaper listings treated films with the rating like pornographic features (Showgirls didn't help much). The advent of home video was raising new concerns about children getting a hold of unrated horror films - with no one remembering that a decade ago, retailers were selling Rambo 2 toys to children.

So along comes this sequel to the cult classic with full frontal nudity and more gore than the original. Yet it earns an R-rating, which might seem rather surprising. Perhaps the MPAA was swayed by the ending,...

James Reviews The Slumber Party Massacre Trilogy [DVD Review]
Let’s go back to the 1980′s. Ronald Reagan was president. Our economy was in the shitter. AIDS was making news as a real threat to society. And the slasher film was making tons of money in the box office and at home with a new fangled contraption called a VHS player. Halloween. Friday the 13th. Nightmare on Elm Street. Those are but a few names that get thrown around when people speak about the slasher genre. But one series that tends to get forgotten or mixed up in the mess is The Slumber Party Massacre Trilogy. And that’s a sad fact, considering these films are loved by many horror fans and thanks to Shout! Factory, they are newly remastered and available for the world to buy now. But do they still match up to their brethren in the genre?

In 1982, Roger Corman wanted to cash in on the slasher craze,...

Interview With Scott Westmoreland of Slumber Party Massacre II
Scott Westmoreland was another of the entrprising young actors trying to make it back in Hollywood in the 80's. Even though he didn't make it as a film actor, he will always be part of a movie, Slumber Party Massacre II, that holds a special place in many a genre fan's bloody heart. Slumber Party Massacre was produced by Roger Corman's Concorde Pictures studio and released by the now defunct Nelson Entertainment. The film enjoyed a re-release on the DVD market in the early part of the decade under Roger Corman's New Concorde Home Entertainment label only to be discontinued and sky rocket in cost to the point that it was unaffordable. Lucky for us, the film is getting re-released yet again by Shout! Factory as part of The Slumber Party Massacre collection. Slumber Party Massacre II co-starred Crystal Bernard, Jennifer Rhodes, and Patrick Lowe. Here is what...
