The five main characters on "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia," known as "the gang," are easily among the most monstrous people in sitcom history, which makes it incredibly difficult to narrow down the single worst thing they've ever done. All the way back in the very first season, Charlie (Charlie Day) pretended to have cancer, the guys made a fake jihad video, and Mac (Rob McElhenney) claimed to have killed an abortion clinic doctor in order to have sex with a pro-life protester, and things have only escalated from there.
The show is now going into its 17th season, having been on the air for 20 years, and in all of that time the gang have done enough terrible things to put the combined casts of "Seinfeld" and "Friends" to shame. If we're putting it purely in legal terms, there's arson, imitation of a police officer, cocaine distribution, numerous instances of assault,...

As Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale builds towards its series finale, Margaret Atwood, who wrote the 1985 novel on which the popular TV drama starring Elisabeth Moss is based, will be honored by The Hollywood Reporter at its Women in Entertainment Canada event on May 29 in Toronto.
The Canadian author, poet and activist will receive the Icon Award at this year’s second annual Wie Canada gala ceremony. Atwood wrote the Handmaid’s Tale book on which the Hulu TV series, from creator Bruce Miller, is based. Her follow-up 2019 novel, The Testaments, is currently being adapted as a sequel series.
The Handmaid’s Tale explores the complicated lives of handmaids who are sex slaves forced to give birth for infertile elite couples. Cultural and political observers have noted that the themes and concepts of the Canadian-born author’s celebrated novel are eerily familiar in today’s climate that sees the Donald Trump...

There have been many TV shows focused on female friendships over the years. For this Galentines Day, you need to watch these excellent shows.
Galentines Day was coined thanks to Parks and Recreation. It’s celebrated the day before Valentine’s Day, and is a chance to celebrate the female friends in our lives. There is nothing better than a strong female friendship and being surrounded by women holding us up.
Too many shows have pitted women against women. It was the way of the world in the past, right? Well, now it’s time to see women supporting women, and you need these five shows to do that. Let me say that there are way more than five, though!
Derry Girls
Set during the 1990s, Derry Girls brings us a story of a group of Catholic teenage girls (and a boy) navigating the world of growing up in the midst of The Troubles.

Though Charlie, Dee, Mac, Dennis and Frank are some of the most conniving, scheming and selfish people in their fictitious version of Philadelphia, there’s one superlative the Paddy’s Pub crew probably can’t claim: Being the weirdest folks in the greater It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia universe.
The debate on the series’ strangest character began last week when Additional_Tax_475 took to Reddit with a question for their fellow Sunny fanatics: “Who is the weirdest character” on the long-running sitcom?
Much like any other contest, fans were largely split on which role deserved the not-so-coveted title. While several cited Gail the Snail, Frank’s fake son Franquito, Artemis and the famously incestuous McPoyle clan as prime contenders, others named the cat-identifying Maureen Ponderosa as the one to beat.

The event’s return follows a successful first-ever Wie Canada summit on May 30 that was attended by iconic Canadian entertainers in the TV, film and music fields like Lilly Singh, Nia Vardalos, Devery Jacobs, Kim Cattrall, Catherine Reitman and Jully Black.
“The inaugural Wie Canada was a huge success, and a wonderful extension of our premiere event,” said Nekesa Mumbi Moody and Maer Roshan, co-editors-in-chiefs of The Hollywood Reporter. “We are delighted to see it return for its second year, and to continue this amazing partnership we have forged. "The gang" on "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" are five of the most extreme, ridiculous, poorly behaved people in television history. While the show is so much more than just a show about terrible people, it is admittedly populated by some pretty awful human beings. Charlie (Charlie Day), Mac (Rob McElhenney), Dennis (Glenn Howerton), Sweet Dee (Kaitlin Olson), and Frank (Danny DeVito) are pretty entertaining all on their own, but they also have to interact with other people, which means expanding the "Always Sunny" world with more weird and wild characters. There are dozens of recurring characters that appear throughout the show's 16 seasons, but some of them have made their mark more than others, either as willing accomplices in the gang's schemes or as their unfortunate targets.
There aren't really many decent people who engage with the gang for long without being broken or simply bailing on the situation, so...

Workin' Moms was canceled after its seventh season, and it is unlikely that there will be a season 8 renewal. The decision to end the show was made in order to finish on a high note and avoid prolonging the storyline unnecessarily. If Workin' Moms were to return for a season 8, it is likely that the core cast would remain the same, but there could be changes depending on the time gap between seasons.
Workin' Moms season 8 never happened despite a dedicated following during its seven-season run. Starring Catherine Reitman in the lead role of Kate Foster, Workin' Moms lives up to its title and focuses on a group of five working Toronto mothers. The unlikely band of friends meet at a parent-baby group and, over the seven seasons, help each other find existential fulfillment through the highs and lows of balancing motherhood and a career.

Some of the entertainment industry’s leading ladies celebrated The Hollywood Reporter‘s inaugural Women in Entertainment Canada event in Toronto on Thursday.
The all-day gathering at the Park Hyatt Hotel was attended by stars like Nia Vardalos, Lilly Singh, director Kari Skogland, Devery Jacobs and Catherine Reitman. “I’m not sure what the requirements are for being an icon, but I’m 67, and I’m rocking with that,” Kim Cattrall said when accepting the Icon Award at the Wie Canada Tribute Awards.
“Congratulations to all the other honorees. It’s amazing what women can do when we come together,” the Sex in the City star added. The event, which coincided with the publication of the Canadian Women’s Power List, focused on driving efforts to achieve gender equity and career breakthroughs for Canadian women in front and behind the camera.
“Load up your slingshot. Put three rocks in there.

Fans could potentially spend hours arguing about the worst things the gang on "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" have done over the course of 16 seasons. They have locked their enemies in a burning apartment, willfully manipulated members of the opposite sex, intentionally gotten addicted to drugs in order to try and scam the welfare system, and much morel. It's also pretty easy to argue about which member of the gang is the worst human being because they're all pretty monstrous. But there is one truly horrible thing, according to star Glenn Howerton, that his character Dennis hasn't done.
That might sound impossible, seeing as Dennis is among the gang's worst when it comes to being misanthropic (though Howerton had argued that Dennis isn't a psychopath). Still, there actually is a terrible, awful thing that Dennis has spoken about a few times but hasn't done, at least not in any episodes of "It's Always Sunny" itself.

Exclusive: The Kumars are plotting a return — this time on American television. Fox has ordered a presentation for multi-camera comedy Meet The Kumars, a followup to the award-winning 2001 BBC series The Kumars At No. 42. Most of the original cast is back for the U.S.-flavored revival of the family sitcom/talk show.
Fox also has come in as a partner on The Donut (working title), a single-camera family business comedy in development at Canada’s CBC from Catherine Reitman and Philip Sternberg, stars of CBC/Netflix’s popular comedy Workin’ Moms, which Reitman created.
The two commissions are part of Fox’s international content expansion, which involves developing and producing scripted series with local creators and studios in English-language territories, currently Canada and the UK and ultimately Australia as well.

Guillermo del Toro might be one of the most acclaimed living directors, but he's also a big fan of "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia." He loves the show so much that he offered star and co-creator Charlie Day a role in his 2013 action film "Pacific Rim" in exchange for a small cameo on the show. Del Toro has actually appeared in several episodes of the comedy series, but even diligent fans may not have recognized him. As a fan of transformative special effects, the filmmaker's disguise prevented most viewers from recognizing him. Believe it or not, del Toro actually portrays the terrifying patriarch of the McPoyle family, Pappy McPoyle.

On April 26, 2023, Netflix released the seventh and last season of Workin' Moms, the Canadian sitcom that first premiered on CBC in 2017 and was picked up by the streaming platform in the middle of its third season. Created by and starring Catherine Reitman, this witty and unhinged dramedy, which is set in Toronto and has been described as both breezy and painfully relatable, does not only appeal to the obvious demographic of women juggling both career and family life; it also tackles modern-day dating, explores the psyche of troubled teenagers, and gives a voice to fathers and husbands.
The show also sheds light on the intricate creative process within marketing and public relations firms, and the struggles, ambition, and competitiveness in the workplace. It explains how some people need to explore (and fail at) several options before finally finding their place professionally, personally, and socially.

Workin' Moms is one of the most relatable modern-day sitcoms, as it deals with the day-to-day issues of being a new mother and a working professional, but there are still plenty of unnecessary Workin' Moms storylines. Workin' Moms shows that motherhood can be as brutal as it is wonderful. Between the cuddles and adorable sleeping babies are worried about working too much and marriage woes. It's a dark comedy that tells the truth about women who want to raise kids as much as they want to find professional success. Kate (Catherine Reitman), Anne (Dani Kind), Frankie (Juno Rinaldi), and Jenny (Jessalyn Wanlim) are finding their way and trying to adjust.
Now that Workin' Moms has concluded with season 7, the show went out on a high note, as it was a consistently funny, realistic look at motherhood since day one. When reflecting on the past seven seasons, there have been some...

The seventh and final season of “Workin’ Moms,” created by and starring Catherine Reitman, first aired on April 26th, 2023. With much glorification from viewers, many consider it the best season yet, even compared to the sixth season. (I’m right there with them).
The series follows four moms, Kate (Reitman) and Anne (Dani Kind), married to Ryan Belleville, Frankie (Juno Rinaldi), and Valerie (Sarah McVie). In this series, they realize that their lives will move forward despite their challenges with their children.

Spoiler Alert: This interview contains spoilers from the final season of “Workin’ Moms,” now streaming on Netflix.
After seven seasons and more than 80 episodes, “Workin’ Moms” has retired: The seventh and final season hit Netflix on April 26. Creator, writer, sometimes director and star Catherine Reitman knew she wanted to end the series while crafting Season 6 — bringing home the comedy of working mothers who are just trying to do their best — with a final scene she’d had in her head.
“The only justice I could think of for working mothers is, you just dust yourself off, you get back up and you go to work,” she tells Variety. “That’s it — you get your kids set up, and you go back to work. And there was no fantasy that could better eclipse the reality of being a working mother.”

The Netflix and CBC Television series Workin’ Moms recently came to a close with the finale of its seventh season. The series was created by and written by Catherine Reitman who also starred in the series. The show first premiered in 2017 on CBC Television, reaching American audiences two years later once it appeared on Netflix in 2019.

“Workin’ Moms” was born following the creator, showrunner, star and sometimes director’s own first Mother’s Day, which she missed while shooting an indie movie. Along with her husband Philip Sternberg (who plays her on-screen husband Nathan on the series), they created the production banner Wolf + Rabbit and sold what was initially going to be a premium cable project to FX.
Reitman had spent a lot of time growing up in Canada with her family (her father was late Canadian filmmaker Ivan Reitman), so when FX passed, she looked north and sold the series to CBC.
“Honest to God, I was so hopeful that I would get to Season 2,” Reitman recalls to Variety.

Anna Faris revealed the identity of the director she previously accused of harassment: late comedy helmer Ivan Reitman.
During Faris’ podcast “Unqualified,” the actress said that Reitman “slapped my ass” during production on the 2006 romantic comedy “My Super Ex-Girlfriend” and “yelled” at her on her first day on set (via Deadline). Faris felt “angry, hurt, and humiliated” by the encounter.
“Ghostbusters” director Reitman died in February 2022 at age 75.
“One of my hardest film experiences was with Ivan Reitman,” Faris told Lena Dunham during the podcast episode. “I mean, the idea of attempting to make a comedy under this, like, reign of terror, he was a yeller. He would bring down somebody every day…and my first day, it was me.”
“My Super Ex-Girlfriend” also starred Luke Wilson, Rainn Wilson, Uma Thurman, and Reitman’s daughter, Catherine Reitman, who went on to create Netflix comedy “Workin’ Moms.”

As a make-up artist touches up Catherine Reitman’s hair between takes, it’s not immediately clear how many hats she wears on the Toronto soundstage for Workin’ Moms, her popular CBC and Netflix comedy.
Reitman is the creator, executive producer, writer and star, playing Kate Foster, on the half-hour series that began as four women in a Mommy and Me group wanting to have it all, yet juggling the real challenges of being a modern working mother, relationships, insatiable babies, horrific co-workers and postpartum depression.
“I laugh at the writers all the time. Here’s this indulgent thing I’m doing, sharing my personal experiences, praying that one out of five mothers will connect, and it turned out that a huge chunk of our audience don’t even have kids,” she tells The Hollywood Reporter about the improbability of her first TV...

Photo: ‘Workin’ Moms’ Adapt or Die: A Lesson in Keeping a Concept Evolving An often overused expression, but in the context of the hit comedy ‘Workin’ Moms’ feels perfectly apt. The series was created by and stars Catherine Reitman, daughter of the legendary late director Ivan Reitman, as Kate Foster who when we meet her in Season One is a new mom struggling to keep a hold of her booming but demanding career working in Public Relations. The series takes off from there and the next four seasons follow Kate as she continues to keep a grip on her family life and friendships while not giving up who she is at heart. The “Kids in the Hall” cast — Dave Foley, Bruce McCulloch, Kevin McDonald, Mark McKinney and Scott Thompson — are unearthed from their burial plot and set loose on the world once again in the first trailer for the Prime Video revival of the beloved sketch comedy. The reboot will debut on May 13, the streamer announced on Wednesday at its Prime Video Presents Canada showcase event in Toronto.
Things are crushed from a distance, tasteless jokes are made and Queen Elizabeth spoofed in the trailer, which sees the comedians skeptical of their new streaming network, Amazon.
The upcoming season will feature eight episodes with all-new sketches and guest stars including Pete Davidson, Mark Hamill, Catherine O’Hara, Kenan Thompson, Will Forte, Paul Bellini, Brandon Ash-Mohammed, Catherine Reitman, Samantha Bee, Fred Armisen, Paul Sun-Hyung Lee, Jay Baruchel, Eddie Izzard, Tracee Ellis Ross and Colin Mochrie.
The original Emmy-nominated sketch show premiered in 1989 and become a cult comedy hit.

Exclusive: Showtime has put into development Rivkah, a comedy from comedian and writer Robby Hoffman (The Chris Gethard Show) and A24.
Written by Hoffman, the project is inspired by her real life and focuses on two worlds — the idyllic contemporary life Hoffman lives as a genderqueer woman on the Eastside of L.A., and her childhood growing up as a closeted girl named Rivkah with nine siblings set in the world of the Hasidic community in Brooklyn’s Crown Heights. Hoffman would play the adult version of the character, should it go to series.
Hoffman, Alli Reich, Hallie Sekoff, Ravi Nandan and Jordan Tilzer are executive producers.

Hoffman wrote for the Catherine Reitman comedy Workin’ Moms (Netflix), Baroness Von Sketch Show (IFC), and The Chris Gethard Show (TruTV). She won a Daytime Emmy for her work on the PBS children’s show Odd Squad.

It doesn't get more raw and real than Workin' Moms, the CBC comedy that follows Kate (Catherine Reitman) and her friends as they try to get through the trials of motherhood. Whether pumping at work or standing up to her cheating husband, Kate is never afraid of being totally honest. She even navigates being a single mom of two kids while starting her own business.

The characters on Workin Moms are all pretty smart, and they know that real life is tough sometimes (or most of the time). There are a lot of other funny series that fans of this show can check out, and they all admit that things aren't always perfect.
