Greg Berlanti is getting back into the writers room.

The mega-producer has three projects, at three different streamers, in various stages of development — including a series order for Stillwater, based on the horror comic of the same name, at Amazon’s Prime Video. Berlanti is also developing a high school mystery series at Hulu and a family drama at Max.

All three projects come from Warner Bros. TV, where Berlanti has a rich overall deal and has been his studio home for most of his career.

Stillwater and the Hulu project, Foster Dade, will also mark Berlanti’s first teleplay credits in several years. While the prolific producer has a “developed by” or creator credit on many of the shows his eponymous company has produced — including most of The CW’s Arrow-verse series — he hasn’t had a writing credit since the early days of You, which is now wrapping its run on Netflx.

Greg Berlanti has set up multiple projects across multiple streamers on which he will serve as co-writer, Variety has confirmed.

Although Berlanti remains one of the most prolific producers in Hollywood via his Warner Bros. TV-based Berlanti Productions, the most recent show on which he was credited as a writer was “Superman & Lois,” which debuted in 2021.

First up, Berlanti and Carly Wray are set as writers and executive producers on the horror thriller “Stillwater,” based on the Skybound comic book of the same name by Chip Zdarsky and Ramon K. Perez.

The official logline for the show states, “When ex-con Daniel West receives a mysterious letter promising answers about his past and a substantial inheritance in the small town of Stillwater, he discovers a community where nothing ever ages, no one ever dies, and nobody ever gets out.”

The best anime leave fans asking countless questions long after the credits roll. Ideally, this is a good indicator that shows how invested audiences were in the story and characters that they just saw. Sadly, too many anime leave viewers asking questions for the wrong reasons. These anime were so frustrating and almost illogical, they enraged fans who wanted a good story.

It should be noted that these anime are frustrating not because they left a lot open to audience's interpretation, or because they didn't provide easy answers. Admittedly challenging anime like Angel's Egg, Ghost in the Shell, or Serial Experiments Lain don't apply here. Rather, these anime are guilty of failing to pay off their biggest questions with satisfying answers and resolutions. To say these anime frustrated viewers is an understatement.

However, especially in the early days of anime, a series might only get one or two seasons before ending without reaching a proper ending. Other series reach a conclusion, but they stray from the source material, adding in their own original story lines instead.

A movie based on the popular life simulation video game The Sims is officially in the works at Amazon MGM Studios. While not much is known about the plot, EA Games has offered some insight into what fans can expect from the film.

A feature film adaptation of the popular gaming franchise, The Sims, has been confirmed by Amazon MGM Studios. The word came about six months after rumors of the proposed film began to circulate on the internet.

Confirmation on the development of the film was reported by Deadline. Although plot details are a secret for now, it has been confirmed that Loki director, Kate Herron, will direct the film. The feature will be co-written by Herron and Briony Redman. Redman and Herron will also be executive producers on the project, which is being produced by Margot Robbies production company, LuckyChap, and Vertigo Entertainment, with The Sims team from EA.

The Roots Picnic, held yearly in Philadelphia since 2008, is a special kind of music festival. The lineup this year covered a wide spectrum of hip-hop and R&b, plus country, go-go, and more, with the Roots’ own omnivorous musicality as the guiding force. Daily crowds of 30,000 made the pilgrimage to Fairmount Park to soak up the sun and sounds on June 1 and 2. There were surprise guests (Ghostface! Common! Freeway! Lloyd! Musiq Soulchild!), outstanding collaborations, a couple of disappointing no-shows (Cam’Ron, you were missed), and tons more performances across three stages.

Daniel Zirilli, a prolific director, producer and writer of action films and more than 200 music videos including the Rolling Stones’ “Voodoo Lounge,” died April 28. He was 58.

His death was announced by his family. No cause was disclosed, but an Instagram message posted by his daughter Talise Zirilli last weekend indicated that he had been missing since April 24.

Born November 13, 1965, Zirilli founded Popart Film Factory at age 24 after graduating from Pepperdine University in Malibu. In the subsequent years, he would direct and writer more than 30 feature films, most in the action and thriller genres. He was a producer on more than 85 films.

Among his most recent, Zirilli directed, produced and co-wrote Invincible, released by Lionsgate in 2022. Shot on location in Thailand, Invincible starred Johnny Strong, Marko Zaror and Michael Pare, who also appeared in Zirilli’s Hollow Point (2019) along with Luke Goss and Jay Mohr.

Wu-Tang Clan are set to continue their takeover of Las Vegas in 2024 with additional shows at the Theater at Virgin Hotels.

“Wu-Tang Clan: The Saga Continues… The Las Vegas Residency” initially kicked off over Super Bowl weekend in February and was followed by another pair of concerts on March 22nd and 23rd. Now, two additional shows have been scheduled for September 27th and 28th.

The BBC announced on Tuesday that Herron will co-write an upcoming episode of Doctor Who alongside Briony Redman. The news follows the announcement that filming is now underway for Ncuti Gatwa's second series as the Doctor. Per the BBC, Herron and Redman's episode will air once Ncuti Gatwa takes control of the Tardis as the Fifteenth Doctor. The duo have previously worked together on projects such as the comic The Storkening, the sci-fi Miss Universe and the short Smear. Herron expressed her excitement over getting to work with showrunner, Russell T Davies, and leading man Gatwa. She said, "Clearly I can’t get enough of time travel. It is an absolute honour to write for Russell and Ncuti. We had so much fun and can’t wait for you all to see it."
