Purnima won the Best Child Artist Award, for the musical television
series "Kacchi Dhoop" (inspired from `Little Women'). Also, as a child
actor she performed in a French feature film, "La Nuit Bengali"
(Entrant in the Cannes Festival) featuring actors, Hugh Grant and John
Hurt. As she went further in her acting career, she was selected to
play the coveted role of Queen Mumtaz Mahal in the Canadian production
titled "Taj Mahal - A Monument Of Love". (This film depicted the true
love story between Emperor Shajahan and his beloved Queen Mumtaz Mahal
which inspired this wonder of the world.)
Apart from her acting career, she also was a finalist in the Femina Miss India beauty pageant. (This contest is affiliated with the prestigious Miss Universe and Miss world Contest.)Further she modelled and endorsed various multinational companies/products like British Airways, Philips, Nestle', Procter and Gamble, Reynolds.
Her future assignments include an international Canadian English language in which she plays the lead role, co-starring established actors from U.S. and U.K. (Cast under finalization), slated for summer 2005 world wide release.
