- Massimo Pupillo was born on January 7, 1929 in San Severo, Italy. He was a director and writer, known for Vierges pour le bourreau (1965), L'amore, questo sconosciuto (1969) and Cimetière pour morts vivants (1965). He died on December 12, 1999 in Rome, Italy.
- After completing the direction of his horror film Cimetière pour morts vivants (1965), he was unsatisfied with the final result, and allowed the film's producer, Ralph Zucker, to take the director's credit instead. This has led people to confuse Pupillo and Zucker for one another, and when Zucker died in 1982, some thought that Pupillo had died, which is incorrect.
