Quotes

J. Om Prakash

Edit
  • I had the privilege to cast him in Aap Ki Kasam, Akraman, Aashiq Hoon Baharon Ka and Akhir Kyun. Rajesh and I had an association for so many years. Kaka was the first choice for Apnapan and Arpan but due to date issues had to opt for Jeetendra. He was a very warm-hearted person and a great actor. I think he was an asset and rather pride of any filmmaker he worked with. He was my favorite super-star and remains the most versatile too.
  • My father was a humble school-teacher from Lahore who rose to be an educationist. His advice to me, "No matter what you do in life, always remain a student who is eager for more knowledge. Never think that you know everything!" always held me in good stead.
  • [on Rajesh Khanna] I am one of those who selected him at the United Producers Filmfare Talent Contest in 1965. He gave a wonderful speech and the instant reaction was "lets select him". It was a long performance that revealed the tremendous potential needed, especially for an emotional actor and it moved the hearts of the panel members. Later for the role in Aap Ki Kasam I convinced Kaka that even though it had negative shades only he could do justice to this role
