The stars of Ghosts will haunt the San Diego Comic-Con again, heading to the pop culture convention for a Saturday, July 26, 2025 panel. CBS Studios is also bringing members of the Star Trek: Strange New Worlds and the upcoming Star Trek: Starfleet Academy casts to Sdcc for a supersized Star Trek Universe panel.

Cote de Pablo and Michael Weatherly from the newest addition to the NCIS franchise, NCIS: Tony & Ziva, are scheduled to take part in a panel on Thursday, July 24. NCIS: Tony & Ziva and the two Star Trek series will also be a part of Paramount+’s The Lodge interactive fan experience that will be set up at Happy Does.

A head-scratching bit of lore lingering from Ghosts season 4 gets an update from co-showrunner Joe Port. The supernatural comedy has been renewed for two additional installments at CBS, meaning that Ghosts season 5 will get the chance to pick up on the fact that death is now hunting Jay (Utkarsh Ambudkar), but there are even more unanswered questions.

One of those questions connects to Sass (Román Zaragoza). His girlfriend, Joan (played by Taylor Ortega), can roam more freely despite the fact that the show's lore dictates that spirits are generally confined to the places where they died.

In an update from TVLine, showrunner and executive producer Joe Port connected Joan's powers to Pete's (played by Richie Moriarty). Port, who serves as showrunner with fellow co-creator Joe Wiseman, teased that there will be more to learn about Joan's powers. Read his quote below:

When Season 5 of Ghosts rolls around, fans may finally be getting an answer to one of the show's biggest remaining questions. One of the series' co-showrunners recently talked about what the new season may have in store.

Per TVLine, Ghosts co-showrunner Joe Wiseman revealed that fans may finally get the answer to how Sas, the Native American from the 1500s who appears on the hit CBS sitcom, died. The question will "very likely" be answered. "We’re not promising, but it is something we’ve talked about a lot," Wiseman shared. "It does seem like every season, we reveal some of the big mysteries — what their powers are, and how they died — and as you mentioned, I think the last one is Sas' death, so... probably."

For the last four years, Danielle Pinnock has been a ghost — and she couldn't be happier. As one of the large, spirited cast of CBS's Ghosts, Pinnock plays former Prohibition-era jazz singer Alberta, who died on New Year's Eve 1928 after accidentally drinking poisoned moonshine. But there’s a catch: That contract he signed wasn’t actually to hire a P.R. team. The Season 2 renewal of Watson today left two CBS scripted series on the bubble, veteran drama The Equalizer and freshman comedy Poppa’s House. The good news is that conversations on both are continuing; the bad news is that both are looking at an already packed 2025-26 CBS slate with little room left. And while their ratings have been Ok, the numbers are in a range of CBS shows that already have been canceled as the network is facing tough cancellation decisions for a second year in a row as its scripted lineup has been performing.

In the case of Poppa’s House, starring Damon Wayans and Damon Wayans Jr., I hear there are ongoing budget talks, and trimming the cost of the sitcom would improve its chances. Still, Poppa’s House is being evaluated alongside three pilots — Dmv, Zarna and The Neighborhood planted spinoff — for what I hear is likely one comedy slot next season.

It's been seven months since we've last heard of the new comedy from Ghostscreators Joe Port and Joe Wiseman. After such a long time, it might even seem like Eternally Yours was not going to happen anymore. However, a new report by Deadline confirms that the duo of writers have just recently cracked their knuckles to develop the upcoming supernatural comedy series. A release window is yet to be announced, but CBS is eyeing the pilot season this fall for the series.

To pilot or not to pilot has been a question broadcast networks have been asking themselves for more than a decade and are increasingly answering ‘no’ to, especially when it comes to the traditional pilot season in the months leading to the May upfronts. We haven’t gotten a single pilot order in 2025 so far. While that is about to change with a handful of orders coming up, the pilot drought has been persistent amid an industry contraction and linear viewing decline, especially as the networks are still dealing with the backlog caused by strike-related delays.

Broadcasters these days often opt for economically efficient planted spinoffs that shoot as regular episodes of existing drama and comedy series or for development rooms and straight-to-series orders, primarily on the drama side. CBS has given Ghosts fans some very good news. The show has received a two-season renewal from the studio through the 2026/2027 season.

Deadline reports that the Ghosts renewal comes along with a Season 2 order for the breakout Chuck Lorre comedy, Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, starring Montana Jordan and Emily Osment. Other series to land renewals include Tracker, Fire Country, Elsbeth, NCIS, NCIS: Origins, NCIS: Sydney and Hollywood Squares. Ghosts is the first non-Chuck Lorre comedy on CBS to land a multi-season renewal in many years.

Marvel Television reportedly stops development on three long-awaited series -- but there's still hope for them to be made in the future.

Ghosts stars Rose McIver and Utkarsh Ambudkar as a married couple formerly from New York. When they inherit a country house, their joy is short-lived as the property is dilapidated and inhabited by ghosts from different eras of American history.

“Ghosts” star Rose McIver’s first-ever TV directing gig had a bit of everything: A 1980s flashback. A Mafioso storyline. Ghostly mind games. And even a heist. “It was cool to have a twist and a genre bent to the episode,” said McIver, who directed the Season 4 episode “Ghostfellas,” which aired Thursday on CBS. “We were still making an episode of ‘Ghosts’ that has to be cohesive with the season, but it was fun to explore a little flavor in there and be able to play with the tropes.”

In “Ghostfellas,” Jay (Utkarsh Ambudkar) is looking to add a new arrabbiata sauce to his restaurant — and early 1980s ghost Pete (Richie Moriarty) comes to the rescue with a unique family recipe. It’s a hit, but it turns out to be from his ex-wife Carol’s (Caroline Aaron) family.

CBS has handed a two-season renewal to Ghosts, now in its fourth season, taking the single-camera comedy through the 2026-27 season. Additionally, the network has given a Season 2 renewal to breakout freshman multi-camera comedy Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage for 2025-26.

The early vote of confidence for the two shows is not surprising as they are CBS’ highest rated comedy series. They have been picked up today along with other CBS strong performers on the drama side, Tracker, Fire Country, Elsbeth, NCIS, NCIS: Origins and NCIS: Sydney as well as the recently launched Hollywood Squares reboot.

Of the bunch, the Young Sheldon spinoff Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage is second only to Tracker in Live+35 Days multi-platform viewership (12.9 million), with Ghosts close behind at 11 million, up 9% from last season.

Ghosts is still waiting for a Season 5 renewal from CBS. Luckily for fans, actor Utkarsh Ambudkar, who plays Jay Arondekar in the hit sitcom, believes one is on the way.

Speaking with Screen Rant, Ambudkar shared that he believes Ghosts has a better shot at being renewed than being canceled, noting that the sitcom has struck a chord with audiences. "It's one of those things where we are beloved by people, and I haven't experienced anything like it. Everywhere we go, especially if we're together, we're stopped by people out in the streets whose entire family watches Ghosts together," he explained. "We've struck the right chord with viewers, where they wanted something that they could sit down and watch with their whole family, which wasn't sugarcoated or saccharin and still had some edge; it has a lot of comedy and is still taking chances."

Without much fanfare, the critically acclaimed CBS comedy series Ghost has rolled out onto Netflix in over two dozen regions. The show is already doing numbers in the Netflix top 10s since its addition on January 31st, with the first two seasons being added. Despite being set in the here and now, Ghosts has about 1,000 years' worth of history at its storytelling disposal. With eight central characters who each passed away during vastly different periods in history, the series has a near-overwhelming amount of possibilities for what it can do with flashbacks. This is a tool that the Joe Port and Joe Wiseman series has used quite effectively throughout its four seasons with glimpses into the past both big and small.

While there are many great sitcoms with different approaches to entertaining their audience, all of the best ones share one key trait: a great ensemble. Whether it's the bar patrons of Cheers or the dysfunctional siblings of Modern Family, these groups are the reasons that fans keep coming back, with their earnest relationships and hilarious hijinks creating the perfect formula for viewership. And while many series boast great performers, few have managed to collect a group as exceptional as CBS' Ghosts. “Ghosts” Season 4 has cast Nat Faxon in a guest star role, Variety has learned.

Faxon will appear in an upcoming episode of the hit CBS comedy as founding father Alexander Hamilton, who fans of the show know is the rival of Isaac (Brandon Scott Jones). The episode will air in early 2025.

Faxon is an Academy Award winner, sharing the award for best adapted screenplay with Alexander Payne and Jim Rash for the 2012 film “The Descendants.” He currently stars in the Apple TV+ comedy series “Loot” opposite Maya Rudolph, which is going into its third season. Faxon’s other TV credits include “The Conners,” “Our Flag Means Death,” “Gaslit,” and “Friends From College.” He is also known for films like “The Way Way Back,” which he co-wrote and co-directed with Rash.

He is repped by CAA, Artists First, and Goodman Genow.

“Ghosts” continues to be one of the most popular comedies in the CBS lineup.

Nat Faxon is joining the CBS sitcom for one very special episode to play Alexander Hamilton, the founding father who was Isaac’s rival in life and obsession in death, the network revealed Thursday.

CBS says the episode is set to air in early 2025. No word yet on how, exactly, the residents at Woodstone will encounter the famous Federalist.

Hamilton’s appearance will be a big payoff for fans, who have heard all about Isaac’s disdain for him over the past four seasons on Ghosts. While Hamilton’s memory has haunted Isaac since the Revolutionary War, he only recently learned that the first Secretary of the Treasury was a household name.

During Ghosts’ annual Halloween episode, Puritan spirit Patience put Sam on trial for witchcraft after learning that she had conjured the dead during a past All Hallows’ Eve. Bored and with nothing to do since Jay cancelled Halloween, the other ghosts agreed to the trial as a means of entertainment.

Earlier this year at Sdcc, Ghosts showrunners Joe Port and Joe Wiseman dropped a major spoiler for Season 4. Among some other epic teases, the duo promised that at some point this season Utkarsh Ambudkar's Jay would finally get to see the ghosts he's been living with for four years. While they haven't revealed how Jay will see their dead found family though I have my suspicions or how long it will last, fans are eager to see Ambudkar finally get to interact with his co-stars on the hit comedy series.
