Born in Nottingham, her parents worked for Players Cigarettes while she was a secretary with the Co-op and acted with the Cooperative Arts Theatre Her first break was at 24 when she was picked for a chorus role in the John Hanson tour of 'The Desert Song'. She did another tour with him then went into 'Godspell. She would have liked to have been an all round entertainer like Barbra Streisand or Shirley MacLaine.
