He is an actor and director, known for Na Boca do Mundo (1978), A Grande Cidade ou As Aventuras e Desventuras de Luzia e Seus 3 Amigos Chegados de Longe (1966) and La mansión de Araucaima (1986). He has been married to Benedita da Silva since 1992. They have one child. He was previously married to Vera Manhães.
