- In Paris, the companion of Betsy Blair from the late-1950's to early-1960's (in between her marriages to Gene Kelly and Karel Reisz). Together with Serge Reggiani, they founded the production company Garance Films.
- February 28, 1948, he was the host of the last evening of the first "Nice Jazz Festival" which took place at the Hotel Negresco where he introduced all the artists who played or sang at this hotel : Francis Burger, Rex Stewart, Suzy Delair, Jean Marion, Yves Montand, Mezz Mezzrow and Louis Armstrong. The song that Suzy Delair sang was "C'est si bon" (composed in 1947 by Henri Betti with the lyrics of André Hornez) which Louis Armstrong loved and recorded in an American version (English lyrics by Jerry Seelen) on June 26, 1950 in New York with Sy Oliver and his Orchestra. When it was released, the disc was a worldwide success and the song was then performed by the greatest international singers.
