Benoit Pilon
An Inuit man is diagnosed with tuberculosis by Canadian authorities and forcibly removed from his family and quarantined in a Quebec City. Tivii is uprooted and taken to a sanatorium far from his loved ones. Faced with a completely alien world, he finds himself unable to communicate with anyone until he sparks a relationship with another transplanted Inuit, a young orphan named Kaki.

Benoit Pilon is a director and screenwriter born in Montreal, Quebec. He has directed awarded fictions and documentaries, including The Necessities of Life (2008), Iqaluit (2016), Le club Vinland (2020) and Roger Toupin, épicier variété (2003). He has studied film at Concordia University. In 2009, The Necessities of Life made the 9 films short list for the Oscar in the Best Foreign Language Film category.
