The Last Of US Star Bella Ramsey Wants To Play Spider-man: "They Need To Make A New [Superhero] For Me"
Image
Coming off their acclaimed turn as Ellie in the second season of HBO's The Last of Us, we have heard from a couple of different sources that Bella Ramsey is being eyed for a Marvel Studios role.

Whether this means that Ramsey has actually taken a meeting with the studio or is simply on their radar is not clear, but the actor wasn't about to confirm anything when asked about the rumors and whether they had any interest in following Pedro Pascal into the MCU at HBO Max Nominee Celebration Day.

“I don’t know about that,” Ramsey responded. “I could be Spider-Man. Tom Holland did a great job though. So maybe they do need to make a new [superhero] for me.”

Ramsey was clearly joking around, and actually hasn't seen that many Marvel films. In fact, they only recently watched their first: One of Andrew Garfield's The Amazing Spider-Man movies.

Rumor: The Last Of US Star Bella Ramsey Eyed For A "Big Marvel Role"
Image
Coming off their acclaimed turn as Ellie in the second season of HBO's The Last of Us, Bella Ramsey is reportedly being eyed for a Marvel Studios role.

Though this should only be viewed as a rumor for the time being, scooper Mttsh is claiming that Marvel is interested in signing Ramsey for a "big role" in an upcoming project. This obviously covers a lot of ground and even more potential characters, and it's entirely possible that Kevin Feige and co. simply have the highly in-demand actor on their radar.

Ramsey might well have taken a meeting (or two), but Marvel meets with a lot of talent, often without any specific role in mind.

That said, there are some major MCU movies on the horizon, and  - assuming this is accurate - we can't help but wonder if Ramsey might be in line for a role in the upcoming X-Men reboot.

‘The Last of Us’ Season 2: All the Biggest Changes From the Game
Image
Jump to an episode Episode One, “Future Days” Episode Two, “Through the Valley” Episode Three, “The Path” Episode Four, “Day One” Episode Five, “Feel Her Love” Episode Six, “The Price” Episode Seven (season finale), “Convergence”

When it premiered in 2023, HBO’s The Last of Us was hailed by many as the best video game adaptation ever. A huge part of that acclaim was attributed to how closely series’ creators Craig Mazin and Neill Druckmann (who co-created the game) stuck to the script when translating the 2013 title to television.

For anyone who’d played the game,...

The Last Of US: Clips From Sunday's Season 2 Finale Have Leaked Online - Spoilers
Image
Footage from this Sunday's season 2 finale of The Last of Us has leaked online, and fans have been reacting to what appears to be at least one significant change to how these events play out in the Naughty Dog video game, The Last of Us Part II.

We're not sure if the entire episode was posted at any point, but the finale was made available early to people who bought the season pass for the show through Apple. The episode - reportedly titled "Convergence" - was quickly removed ahead of the intended May 25 broadcast date, but not before clips began to circulate on social media.

Spoilers follow.

It looks like the finale is going to cover Ellie picking off the rest of Abby's friends and Abby arriving to the abandoned theater where Ellie, Dina, Jesse and Tommy are holed up to exact her revenge. In the game, Abby kills Jesse...

The Last Of US Season 2 Finale Clips And Stills Tease An Intense Confrontation - Spoilers
Image
Season 2 of The Last of Us concludes next Sunday, and HBO has now shared a series of new promo stills and two clips teasing what's to come in what promises to be an eventful and intense episode.

Spoilers for previous episodes and (potentially) the finale follow.

The penultimate episode, "The Price," consisted of a series of flashbacks to Joel and Ellie's life in Jackson prior to the former's death at the hands of Abby. We learned that Ellie did speak to Joel on his porch the night of the New Year's Eve dance, telling him that she would "like to try" to forgive him for his murderous actions in Salt Lake City back in the season 1 finale.

We are now building to a face-off between Ellie and Abby, but will we see it this Sunday? Without giving too much away for anyone who hasn't played the video game, there...

The Last Of US Season 2, Episode 5 Teaser Finally Introduces A Terrifying Threat From The Video Game
Image
In this week's episode of The Last of Us season 2, "Day One," Ellie and Dina narrowly escape from a horde of infected, with Ellie taking a bite in the arm in order to protect the woman she loves.

Of course, Dina had been kept in the dark about Ellie's immunity, and was fully prepared to shoot her in the head to prevent her from becoming a ravenous killer. Fortunately, Ellie is able to convince Dina that she will not turn, and the latter expresses her relief by first telling Ellie that she is pregnant with Jesse's child, and then instigating their first roll in the hay.

The episode also featured a recreation of what has become almost an iconic moment from the game, as Ellie plays a rendition of Ah-ha's "Take On Me" for Dina after discovering a guitar in a run-down music shop.

"[In the show], it's like, I'm fully embracing not...

That was not a trick of the light, Josh Peck did in fact have a quick cameo in “The Last of Us.”

The actor appeared in a quick scene to open up Season 2, Episode 4 of the HBO adaptation. Like many people in the post-apocalyptic landscape of “The Last of Us,” the “Drake and Josh” alum is not long to survive but his appearance is likely to turn some heads and raise some eyebrows.

Here’s what you need to know about Peck’s cameo.

Who does Josh Peck play in “The Last of Us”

The Last Of US Season 2, Episode 4 Teaser Features Isaac's Debut... And Dina Pulling A Gun On Ellie!
Image
As The Last of Us season 2 continues, Ellie (Bella Ramsey) must walk "The Path" for the first time in over five years without Joel Miller (Pedro Pascal).

In this week's episode, Ellie and Dina (Isabela Merced) decide to set off to Seattle to track down and execute Abby (Kaitlyn Dever) - and any of her allies that happen to get in their way - as revenge for her murder of Joel in "Through the Valley," but they vastly underestimate the size of the force that awaits them.

In the final shot, we see an entire army of Wlf (or "Wolves") soldiers patrolling the streets as Ellie and Dina approach the city on horseback.

Now, HBO has released a preview for next Sunday's episode, and in introduces the man who leads the Wlf, Isaac (Jeffrey Wright), in their war against Fedra (Federal Disaster Response Agency) and, more pertinently for this particular story,...

‘The Last of Us’ Is Gaslighting Us Into Thinking Tommy Wouldn’t Have Gone Full ‘Rambo’ for Joel
Image
Spoiler Alert !!!Spoilers for The Last of Us S2: E02

Joel Miller trusted two people more than anyone in his world. Ellie must be the obvious name that pops into your mind. But Joel’s go-to guy (even before the outbreak) was his younger brother, Tommy.

Some would proudly tell you he’s a younger, more ruthless version of his sibling. Well, that’s only half the story. Video game Tommy is well-qualified to put the fear of god in your soul. Gabriel Luna’s live-action Tommy is steadily drawing similar parallels. But the whispers are growing—has the TV series missed a crucial beat with the character’s portrayal?

Tommy is much more than just Joel’s baby brother

No one was ready to witness the death of Joel Miller, that too, in the second episode. To drive a broken golf club-cum-shaft into his neck in front of his foster daughter?...

The Last Of US Season 2 Star Kaitlyn Dever On Abby's Surprising Debut & Chilling Revenge Vow - Spoilers
Image
"Slowly. When we kill him, we kill him slowly."

As character introductions go, it doesn't get much more unnerving than Abby Anderson's debut in last night's season 2 premiere of The Last of Us. In a change to the Naughty Dog video game that's proven to be somewhat divisive, the show immediately explains why Abby is seeking revenge against the man who killed her father in the season 1 finale, Joel Miller.

Abby convinces her friends to help her track Joel down, but they decide to investigate a new faction (who will turn out to be the Washington Liberation Front/Wlf) first, and we don't see them again until the closing moments of "Future Days" when Abby's crew arrives to the outskirts of the Jackson settlement.

Dever - who was actually in line to play Ellie back when a movie based on The Last of Us was in development - spoke...

New The Last Of US Season 2 Poster & Stills Released; Kaitlyn Dever Responds To Abby Backlash

Abby Anderson might well go down as one of the most despised video game characters in history (you'll find out why soon enough), and Dever was fully aware that taking on the role would open the door to a certain amount of backlash.

Every Actor Who Played Alan Pangborn In Stephen King Movies & TV Shows

Pangborn is the sheriff of Castle Rock, the fictional town in Maine that is the primary setting of many Stephen King books. Pangborn first appears in 1989s The Dark Half, followed by 1991s Needful Things. Pangborn has been also featured in the novella The Sun Dog, which was one of the stories in Kings anthology Four Past Midnight from 1990. While there is a mention of Pangborn by name in the 1998 book Bag of Bones, the character doesnt actually show up.

How the Cordyceps Infection in The Last of Us Started
Image
HBO's The Last of Us introduced us to a completely distinct kind of zombie story, explaining the root cause of the outbreak at the very beginning. Starring Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey, the series takes place twenty years after a fungus infection turns the majority of the world's population into zombies. Joel Miller, who helps out the resistance, the Fireflies, in exchange for certain favors, comes across a teenage girl named Ellie, whom he must accompany beyond the city. However, she just might be holding the key to ending the pandemic once and for all.

Whether you're a dedicated fan of the original games or a newcomer to the HBO series, the origin of the infection can feel elusive since the details mostly unfold in the background. While the show slowly unravels the mystery with each episode, some parts of the Cordyceps Infection remain difficult to understand. So, how exactly...

God of War Producers Exit TV Series, Amazon Starting Over From Scratch
Image
Fans excited about the upcoming God of War television series will seemingly have to wait a little longer as the series is undergoing major changes behind the scenes and starting over from scratch. News of a television series broke in March 2022, and while things were originally moving smoothly, the series has hit a major speed bump.

According to Deadline, showrunner/executive producer Rafe Judkins and executive producers Hawk Ostby and Mark Fergus turned in multiple scripts for God of War before exiting the series. Even though sources told Deadline that Sony Pictures TV and Amazon MGM Studios were happy with the scripts turned in, they are looking to move the series in a new creative direction. No new showrunner has been announced yet, and a new writers' room is being considered.

The move certainly is shocking as Rafe Judkins has an overall deal with Amazon Prime Video and is currently...

The Last of Us Creators Confirm More Story Changes in Season 2
Craig Mazin
Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann have confirmed that Season 2 of The Last of Us will feature similar changes to the source material as Season 1. The first season of HBO's hit adaptation was adored by critics and general audiences, as well as fans of the video games. The series ripped entire scenes and sequences right out of Naughty Dog Studio's beloved franchise of the same name, and has been called one of the most faithful video game adaptations so far. Surprisingly, Season 1 received even more praise for the changes it made to the source material. Though it didn't cut major characters or needlessly alter character details, Season 1 took underdeveloped characters from the video game and gave them a new life on TV. According to Mazin and Druckmann, Season 2 will do exactly the same.

"Our goal is to tell the best story possible," Neil Druckmann told Variety. Luckily for Druckmann and Mazin,...

Microbiologist Debunks The Last of Us' Fungus Zombies
Image
Sorry everyone, but your daymares of living in the world of The Last of Us probably won't come true anytime soon, as a microbiologist has debunked the "science" that made the show's zombie virus happen. Unlike other zombie-centric movies and shows, which either see the dead rising out of graves or various different diseases giving dead people a hunger for brains, The Last of Us takes a naturopathic approach to its outbreak. Cordyceps, a real fungus, has mutated and can now infect humans, turning them into biting corpses, and eventually, the dreaded clickers (after their entire bodies have become entrenched in fungus).

Speaking to Wired, microbiologist Dan Buckley was asked about the zombie virus in The Last of Us and explained how a zombie virus could actually happen. While cordyceps exists in real life, the chances of it ever infecting humans are almost impossible. "The clickers that you saw where...

"[They will premiere around] generally first half of [2025]," Casey Bloys, Chairman and CEO of HBO and Max Content, told Deadline at this year's Emmys. HBO had few shows in contention at this year's awards, with FX sweeping the major categories. However, 2025 could be HBO's year once again,...

The Last Of US Season 2 Teaser Gives Us A First Look At Kaitlyn Dever As Abby
Image
HBO/Max has released the first official teaser for the second season of The Last of Us, and in addition to featuring some shots that should be very familiar to fans of the second video game, it gives us a first look at several new characters, including Jeffrey Wright as the villainous Isaac and Kaitlyn Dever as Abby Anderson.

We only catch a couple of brief glimpses of the young woman who will go on to become Ellie's (Bella Ramsey) nemesis, but the shots of Abby crawling through the snow while infected attempt to get tear through a chain-link fence suggests that season 2 will stick pretty close to the game when it comes to certain events.

We also see Joel (Pedro Pascal) being asked if he hurt Ellie in season 1 by Catherine O'Hara's (Beetlejuice Beetlejuice) mysterious character, to which he tearfully replies, "no... I saved her."

10 The Last Of Us Actors Who Previously Appeared In A Different HBO Show
Image
HBO's loyalty to its actors is evident in The Last of Us' casting, with many familiar faces from other HBO shows making appearances. Pedro Pascal brings a softer side to Joel in The Last of Us, showcasing emotionality and vulnerability alongside his badassness. Bella Ramsey captures Ellie's spirit effectively in The Last of Us, drawing on their Game of Thrones experience to play the role authentically.

From Game of Thrones Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey to The White Lotus Murray Bartlett, pretty much every major actor from The Last of Us had worked with HBO before. Once an actor is in the HBO family, the network tends to keep bringing them back. The Leftovers Carrie Coon was cast in The Gilded Age. The Wires Robert Wisdom was cast in Barry. Sharp Objects Sydney Sweeney was brought back for Euphoria and The White Lotus. Danny McBride has created and starred in Eastbound & Down,...

The Last Of US: Dina And Ellie Draw Their Guns In New Season 2 Set Photos - Spoilers
Image
Earlier this year, we got a blurry first glimpse of Isabela Merced filming scenes as Dina for the second season of HBO's The Last of Us adaptation. Now, thanks to some new photos from the Vancouver set, we have a much better look at the Madame Web and Superman actress as she patrols the streets with her gun drawn alongside Bella Ramsey as Ellie.

If you've played The Last of Us Part II video game, these photos will probably look very familiar. If not, beware of major spoilers from this point on.

Seriously, these are massive Spoilers - last chance!

Based on these shots, we'd say there's a good chance we're seeing Ellie and Dina shortly after arriving in Seattle in search of Abby (Kaitlyn Dever) and her Washington Liberation Front allies after they brutally murdered Joel (Pedro Pascal).

There's always a chance that the show won't stick rigidly close...

The Last of Us season 2: Neil Druckmann will be directing the sixth episode
Image
At one time, the first season of the HBO series adaptation of the video game The Last of Us was meant to consist of ten episodes, with Kantemir Balagov (Beanpole) directing the first three. For reasons that have never been fully revealed, Balagov only ended up directing the first episode, with series creators Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann (who also wrote and directed the video game source material) taking over as directors on episode two and three, respectively. Then the first and second episodes were combined in post, with Balagov going uncredited for the scenes he directed, and the Druckmann-helmed third episode became the second episode. The Last of Us season 2 is now in production, and industry scooper Daniel Richtman has heard that Druckmann will be directing the sixth episode of the season.

Richtman also heard that “two Latinx brothers, 16 and 13” will have major roles in The Last of Us...
