Zeke Piestrup
Zeke Piestrup is a filmmaker and occasional television host. He began his career in the music business, first as a DJ at KROQ in Los Angeles, and then as an A&R rep at A&M Records. His only signing at A&M was Gary Jules of "Mad World" fame.

Zeke hosted Fresh for VH1, The Daily Beat on Metro in NYC, and The Daily Habit for Fuel TV.

Zeke has an extensive background in the music business. He has worked for A&M Records as an A&R representative, Dreamworks Records as a music publishing consultant, and at KROQ radio.

At KROQ, he hosted "Music From Your Own Backyard" - a show he created to highlight Los Angeles area talent. The show helped launch the careers of Sublime, No Doubt, Incubus, Ozomatli, Queens of the Stone Age, and System of a Down.

From 1995 to November 2000, Zeke hosted "Zeke's Backyard Night" at the Opium Den in Hollywood. A weekly local music showcase, performances included No Doubt, Sugar Ray, Spain, the Eels, the Geraldine Fibbers, Ozomatli, Fu Manchu, Queens of the Stone Age, Incubus, Buckcherry, Mike Watt, God Lives Underwater, and a ton of others.

In 1998, Zeke's mom was especially proud when he was named one of the "100 most influential Californians in the music business."

In 2011 Piestrup directed/edited/wrote the award-winning documentary Downhill: The Bill Johnson Story. Three years later saw the release of his third film, Apocalypse Later: Harold Camping vs The End of the World.

Piestrup lives in Venice, CA.
