Hollyoaks (1995)
Four more to leave 'Hollyoaks'
Hollyoaks (1995)
Hollyoaks is to lose another handful of familiar faces over the coming months as four more actors prepare to leave the soap. John Pickard - real-life brother to co-star Nick Pickard (Tony Hutchinson) - will bow out of the Channel 4 soap as chef Dom Reilly toward the end of the year at around the same time as Ashley Slanina Davies, who portrays mum-of-two Amy Barnes. Glenn Wallace is also due to film his final scenes as Malachy Fisher, while Garnon Davies's swansong as sci-fi supergeek Elliot Bevan comes within the same few weeks. Little is known about their respective departures but it has been confirmed that storyliners are busy planning their exit plots. Speaking of his decision to leave, Glen Wallace told Digital Spy: "I've had such an amazing time up here in Liverpool at Hollyoaks and I've learnt so much both personally and (more)...

Pickard announces 'Oaks set tour prize
Hollyoaks (1995)
John Pickard has organised a Hollyoaks set tour competition to raise money for charity. The 31-year-old, who plays chef Dom Reilly on the Channel 4 teen soap, has competed in the Bupa Great North Run and the Ing New York Marathon in recent weeks. He also took part in the London Marathon in April. All three of Pickard's runs have been in aid of Leonard Cheshire Disability and The Prostate Cancer Charity. The star has now announced that anyone who wishes to support his efforts by sponsoring a minimum of £10 will be entered into a prize draw for the rare opportunity to visit the set of Hollyoaks and meet some of the cast. Revealing details of the contest, Pickard commented: "It's a real honour to be supporting two such important charities. My grandad had prostate cancer and was cared for by my mum at home when he became disabled towards the...

T4 host films new 'Hollyoaks' appearance
T4 host Rick Edwards has filmed a second cameo appearance in Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks. The presenter will feature in a scene with actor John Pickard (Dom Reilly) on the teen drama in the run-up to Christmas. Edwards's brief moment on the programme will reportedly see him knocking over a pile of plastic reindeers which have been put up outside eatery Il Gnosh. His carelessness is said to frustrate Dom as he has already been ordered to take them down by Pcso Carmel McQueen (Gemma Merna). The star (more)...

'Oaks stars to run London Marathon
Four members of the Hollyoaks cast have begun training for this year's London marathon. Nicole Barber-Lane (Myra McQueen), Loui Batley (Sarah Barnes), John Pickard (Dom Reilly) and Junade Khan (Ash Roy) all agreed to take part in the 26-mile trek across London on April 26. Speaking exclusively to Digital Spy about her challenge, Barber-Lane joked: "I'm hoping this year's going to be better than the last! I didn't know where I was going or what I was doing! I didn't realise that you had to walk a mile before you got to the start line. So I started completely on my own last year and it took my 7 hours, 58 minutes and 58 seconds. "I said I'd never do it again, but I'm a glutton for punishment," she continued. "I was that slow last year that (more)...

New 'Oaks producer signs two sexy regulars
New Hollyoaks producer Lucy Allan has made her first couple of regular cast signings in the form of two 'blonde bombshells' from Hollyoaks Later. Both Loretta (left) and Cheryl (below) - played by Melissa Walton and Bronagh Waugh, respectively - impressed producers so much that they have been signed up to appear as regulars in the main weekday show. Despite Dom's (John Pickard) wife Tina's (Leah Hackett) death, lap dancer Loretta made a firm impression on him from the moment he met her and he hasn't been able to think about anyone else since. In his eyes, she's the whole package; sexy, intelligent and sophisticated. When Ste (Kieron Richardson) plays the role of cupid, Dom realises that Loretta's the one for him and the pair bond over the unlikely pastime of bird watching. Meanwhile, Malachy's (Glen Wallace) bubbly (more)...
