A celebrated yogi, Lauren has appeared in calendars, books and on magazine covers. Lauren created an highly lauded yoga CD "The Yogi's Companion" and has traveled the world leading workshops, festivals and teacher trainings. Lauren took a hiatus from acting, save for TV Commercials, when becoming a parent to Sashi, and became immersed the ashtanga yoga practice and teaching. Lauren became known internationally, and modeled for yoga books, magazines and calendars. They have traveled to six continents, for work and play, mostly with Sashi in tow. They taught at a Buddhist monastery in the mountains of Japan, on a boat full of surfers in Indonesia and practiced at Sting's villa in Tuscany. They own a small boutique yoga studio in the Los Feliz area, "The Yoga Salon" and now teach in person and on Zoom.

Lauren has one son, Andrew Hisashi (Sashi) Peterson.

Lauren started as a dancer, doing classical ballet and tap. They moved to LA in the 80's, and began working in theatre, film and TV, becoming a member of SAG in the early 1980s. For a time, they moved to Japan, and worked on the "Live from Osaka" 11 PM Show. Lauren was one of the 11 PM Show dancers, and landed on the cover of BOOP Magazine.
