How to Watch All 11 Action Cult ‘Sniper Movies’ In Order?

The 2017 entry, Sniper: Ultimate Kill, has found fresh fame on Netflix, reigniting interest in the franchise.

These movies pack precision sniping, suspense, father-son dynamics, and globetrotting mayhem. This guide explores the series chronologically—where it all began, how it evolved, why each entry matters, and where to stream the current hit (hint: Netflix).

Tremors 5: Bloodlines (2015) – What Happened to This Horror Movie?
Image
A script that sat on a shelf for ten years. A creative team that was told their opinions were not welcome. A location change from Australia to South Africa. Tremors 5: Bloodlines did not have a smooth, peaceful journey to the screen, but it did give us the chance to watch survivalist Burt Gummer fight Graboids again. And today, we’re going to find out What Happened to This Horror Movie.

The production company Stampede Entertainment was formed by S.S. Wilson, Brent Maddock, Nancy Roberts, and Ron Underwood, the team that was behind the classic 1990 monster movie Tremors, which was a Universal release. And when Universal decided they wanted direct-to-video Tremors sequels and a TV show, they turned to Stampede to provide them. As the new century began, Universal was keeping Stampede quite busy. Tremors 3 was released in 2001. Thirteen episodes of the TV series aired on Syfy in 2003. Tremors 4 was...

‘Tremors: Shrieker Island’ Blu-ray Review
Image
Stars: Jackie Cruz, Jon Heder, Michael Gross, Richard Brake, Caroline Langrishe | Written by Brian Brightly, Don Michael Paul | Directed by Don Michael Paul

Tremors: Shrieker Island is the seventh film in the comedy/action franchise and is the best film since the original Tremors. There have been a few misses in the franchise, let’s not talk about the Cold Day in Hell film, but overall, the franchise has been a fun, light-hearted series that is propped up by Michael Gross’ character of Burt Gummer. While Tremors: Shrieker Island may be the finale to the franchise, it also lays the groundwork for a new direction for the series, if the demand is there.

When big game hunter, Bill (Richard Brake), wants to commercialize the greatest hunt he can imagine, he uses his company, Avex-Bio Tech, to scientifically engineer Graboids on his own private island. For those unfamiliar to the series,...

Tremors: Shrieker Island Trailer Brings Burt Gummer Back for More Graboid Action
Image
We have the first trailer for Tremors: Shrieker Island. Originally going under the title "Island Fury," this is the seventh installment in the long-running franchise. This time, Michael Gross is once again back as the gun-loving Burt Gummer for another round with the deadly Graboids. As we can see from the trailer, Burt will have his hands full, not only with the return of the Shriekers, but with some people who don't fully grasp the threat they face. The studio has also revealed the release date and, as promised, the movie will be here just in time for Halloween this October.

The trailer opens up with a group of hunters on an isolated island. Graboids are on the loose and Burt is schooling some newcomers on just how dangerous these creatures are and the threat they pose to those on the island. It then turns into a full-on bout of monster-filled chaos,...

Watch: First Tremors: Shrieker Island Trailer Teases Another Wild Ride
Tremors: Island Fury, or Tremors: Shrieker Island as it’s now titled, is set for a direct-to-video release this October and to whet our appetites, we’ve now got the first official trailer for the next entry in the beloved series, which teases more of the same crazy fun that we’ve come to expect from Tremors.

Shrieker Island is the seventh movie instalment in the franchise and is set on an island resort. This time around, though, the Graboid invasion will come as a result of a rich playboy transporting the creatures off the mainland in order to host a trophy hunt. Of course, that sounds like a pretty terrible idea and it isn’t long before things go wrong, leading to the legendary Burt Gummer being called in for help.

For more, here’s the official synopsis:

“When a group of wealthy trophy hunters genetically modify Graboid eggs...

Tremors 7 Gets a New Title and Official Rating
Image
Tremors 7 has been given an official title, as well as a rating from the MPAA. The sequel in the long-running creature franchise, which will once again bring back Michael Gross as the gun-toting Burt Gummer, was originally going under the title of Tremors: Island Fury. The movie is in the can and is expected to arrive later this year in the fall. Now, we have word that the title has changed ahead of the release to Tremors: Shrieker Island. Additionally, the latest entry in the series has been handed a PG-13 rating, which is right in line with what we've come to expect in the past.

Per the Motion Picture Association of America, Tremors: Shrieker Island is rated PG-13 "for creature violence, language throughout, some gore and suggestive/drug references." While no full synopsis has officially been revealed by Universal Pictures at this time, the latest sequel is said...

Tremors 7 Receives An Official Title And Rating
The original Tremors was one of the best B-movies of the early 1990s. After a brief but successful run in cinemas, the horror-comedy became a hit on home video (helped by truly iconic VHS cover art). Since that first film, we’ve had five sequels (and a TV show) of varying levels of quality, but the franchise is ready to burrow back into our hearts with Tremors 7, now officially titled Tremors: Shrieker Island.

The movie will, of course, see the return of the monstrous Graboids, giant subterranean worm-like creatures that detect vibrations on the surface and burst up from below to devour people. This time the conceit is that a number of Graboids have been captured by a bored billionaire desperate for some thrills. He’s transported the deadly monsters to an island resort with the intention of hunting them for sport. Something tells me that this show of hubris is going to backfire…...

First Tremors: Island Fury Photo Reveals A Bearded Burt Gummer
Tremors: Island Fury remains on course for a direct-to-video release this October, having wrapped up its production months before the coronavirus pandemic hit. And to whet the fans’ appetites, actor Michael Gross has shared the first official image from the upcoming sequel on social media today.

The image offers a sneak peek at how his character, the eccentric Burt Gummer, will appear in the next instalment. He’s a far cry from the hardboiled Graboid-slayer last seen in 2018’s Tremors: A Cold Day in Hell, now sporting a thick white beard and long hair, as though he’s been lost in the wilderness for the last two years.

Island Fury is, of course, the seventh movie instalment in the horror franchise, and as the title suggests, this one takes place on an island resort. This time, the Graboid invasion will be a self-inflicted one of sorts, as the premise involves...

Kevin Bacon, Finn Carter, and Fred Ward in Tremors (1990)
Good news, Graboid fans as Tremors: Island Fury should be arriving in time for Halloween this year. The upcoming sequel in the long-running franchise has finished filming and is currently in post-production. Despite the current production shutdown in Hollywood, according to star Michael Gross, the latest installment is on track to arrive sometime in October.

Michael Gross, who has played Burt Gummer in the franchise ever since the first Tremors hit theaters in 1990, will be back once again as the gun-toting Graboid hunter in what is officially titled Tremors: Island Fury. Gross recently appeared on an episode of the Saved By Nostalgia podcast and was asked about the status of the project. Here's what he had to say about it.

"[Tremors 7] anticipated to come out in October, around Halloween of this year. As far as I know, it's not been pushed back, since the editing process is something that doesn't...

‘Bulletproof 2′ DVD Review
Stars: Faizon Love, Kirk Fox, Tony Todd, Pearl Thusi, Cassie Clare, Fiona Ramsay | Written by Rick Wilkes | Directed by Don Michael Paul

Back in February 2019, when I reviewed Benchwarmers 2 I speculated that Universal’s Dtv arm Universal 1440 Entertainment were scraping the bottom of the barrel. How little did I know… Yes, after being set up to produce sequels to Universal’s properties such as Death Race, Tremors and The Scorpion King, the company has in recent years has churned out sequels to Kindergarten Cop, Daddy Day Care, Cop and a Half, Honey, Bring it On and even Backdraft. Oh, and last November’s out-of-nowhere sequel to Undercover Brother.

But in no way did I or anyone else for that matter, Ever expect Bulletproof 2, a sequel to the 1996 Adam Sandler film Bulletproof. After all, it’s been 24(!) years since the original film was released and both its stars Adam...

Tremors 7 Has Now Wrapped Filming
Remember yesterday when we said how much Kevin Bacon still wants to make his own Tremors reboot? And that the Tremors direct-to-video sequel series was still in production? Well, apropos of the latter point, there’s been a big update now.

Filming on the prospective seventh film in the franchise, Tremors: Island Fury (also known as Tremors 7), has wrapped, ahead of a mooted release date somewhere in 2020. Bet you’re quaking with excitement, as it’s going to rock your home cinema. You’ll be trembling at the thought of it. Ok, I’m out of puns. Turns out there are only so many shaky jokes you can make (and I used that one in the previous article. Bummer).

One of the project’s principal stars, Michael Gross, took to Facebook to announce the news today, saying:

Explosive Tremors 7 Set Video Goes Behind-the-Scenes with the Cast
Kevin Bacon, Finn Carter, and Fred Ward in Tremors (1990)
The seventh film in the cult classic Tremors series Tremors: Island Fury began filming in Thailand last week. And to celebrate the beginning of principal photography, the official Tremors Instagram page shared a fun video intro with Gross looking like a homeless Santa Clause. And before you say anything, I know what you're thinking. Is that Napoleon Dynamite and Flaca from Orange Is the New Black hanging out with the South Bend Shovel Slayer on vacation? And to that question, I have to say, yes, crazy as it sounds, yes that is Jon Heder and Jackie Cruz hugging all up on the new My Name is Earl version of Burt Gummer.

Tremors 7 First Look Reveals Burt Gummer's Shocking Transformation
Kevin Bacon, Finn Carter, and Fred Ward in Tremors (1990)
Production on Tremors 7 is currently underway. Burt Gummer actor Michael Gross has shared the first look at the highly anticipated sequel. Gross posted a picture of himself on social media with the caption, "Burt Gummer as you've never seen him before." And as Gross shows, it really is an entirely brand-new look for the character and one that will have long-time fans scratching their heads, or possibly even their chins. Gummer is going to be sporting a new white beard, looking like a mall version of Santa, which isn't really a new look for Gross.

Tremors 7 is reportedly being called Tremors: Island Fury. We have yet to receive confirmation on that, but it appears to at least be the working title for the sequel. With a new look for Michael Gross in the sequel, fans may be getting flashbacks to 2015 when the actor took part in the TV movie Becoming Santa.

‘Tremors: Cold Day in Hell’ Review
Stars: Michael Gross, Jaime Kennedy, Tanya van Graan, Greg Kriek, Jay Anstey | Written by John Whelpley | Directed by Don Michael Paul

In this, the sixth film in the long-running Tremors franchise, Burt Gummer (Michael Gross) and his son Travis Welker (Jamie Kennedy) are called to a research facility in the frozen tundra of the Canadian Arctic. They find themselves up to their ears in Graboids and Ass-Blasters investigating a series of deadly giant-worm attacks. Burt begins to suspect that Graboids are secretly being weaponized, but before he can prove his theory, he is side-lined by Graboid venom. With just 48 hours to live, the only hope is to create an antidote from fresh venom – but to do that, someone will have to figure out how to milk a Graboid.

Ok, so we’re on the sixth film in the series and the second to feature Jaime Kennedy… Which is not a...

Tremors: A Cold Day in Hell Review
Before you ask, yes – we still don’t have a sequel to [insert favorite one-off movie], but we *do* have five Tremors continuations. Each iteration pits survivalist Burt Gummer against advanced Graboid mythology in some way, including 2018’s latest Canadian basecamp defense. Where oh where could Don Michael Paul’s frosty Tremors: A Cold Day In Hell *possibly* tunnel to next? Exactly where the title suggests. A cold day in “Hell” (otherwise known as Canada).

How…inventive?

To be fair, what’s sacrificed by not introducing a new childishly-named Graboid evolution is swapped for Burt Gummer’s (Michael Gross) Ptsd freakouts and viral side effects from his digestive escape in Tremors. He’s called up North to the Nunavut province when Graboids attack ice-drilling researchers – and it’s here where he’s diagnosed with a (possibly) life-threatening affliction.

Good thing “wingman” Travis B. Welker (Jamie Kennedy) is there to impart his “father’s” wisdom...

Michael Gross at an event for Mrs. Harris (2005)
Tremors 6: A Cold Day in Hell is making its way to Blu-ray/DVD and digital platforms on May 1, and we have an exclusive clip to give fans a little taste of what's in store this time around. Burt Gummer, once again played by Michael Gross, is bringing his Graboid hunting skills to the arctic. He's also letting his son along for the ride, once again played again by Jamie Kennedy, as introduced in Tremors 5: Bloodlines. At least in terms of the landscape, this sequel is taking the franchise somewhere it's never been before.

The clip features Burt and his son traveling in a small plane over the remote arctic tundra in Canada. Unfortunately for them, their old friends the ass blasters, a variation of the Graboid introduced to us in Tremors 3: Back to Perfection, is making things a bit difficult. Burt, with his years of wisdom and experience fighting these creatures,...

Tremors 6 Trailer Promises A Cold Day In Hell
Hold onto your butts, for the Graboids are back with a vengeance.

Tremors: A Cold Day in Hell, the sixth installment in the cult horror-comedy series, has been pegged for a direct-to-video release on May 1st. And Universal and Entertainment Weekly have unearthed the first trailer to prove it.

Embedded above, this first-look promo is heavy on action and light on sound, as there appears to be no dialogue to speak of. EW’s post has since been pulled offline, so chances are the outlet will release a corrected version later in the day. We will, as always, update this post the moment a new trailer is available, but for now, let’s take a look at those cast members about to experience a cold day in Hell.

Front and center are Michael Gross and Jamie Kennedy, who reprise their roles as Burt Gummer and Travis Welker, respectively, while there...

First Tremors 6 Photos Introduce A Host Of New Characters
While these pictures may not include any monsters – nor anyone that looks particularly chilly – the first images from Tremors 6: A Cold Day In Hell are entirely on-brand for the iconic horror-comedy franchise, which is now in its 28th year.

Featuring Michael Gross as Burt Gummer – the only character to have appeared in every Tremors project released so far – they reveal plenty of guns being aimed out of buildings, pneumatic drills and some tense ‘don’t walk on the ground!’ shots. Mostly, though, we can see that Gross and his cast are having a great time, and that’s really what this franchise is all about.

The premise for the series is gloriously simple. Back in 1990, we saw the tiny, desert town of Perfection ravaged by monsters called Graboids that live under the sand. With the action then led by Kevin Bacon’s Val McKee and Fred Ward’s Earl Bass,...

Tremors 6 Gets Titled A Cold Day in Hell
Kevin Bacon, Finn Carter, and Fred Ward in Tremors (1990)
Did you know they're still making Tremors movies? Because they are and a sixth movie in the long-running franchise is on the way in 2018. The movie has been in the works for a while now and will see star Michael Gross return once again as Burt Gummer, doing what he does best; hunting Graboids. Now, the movie has been given an official PG-13 rating by the MPAA. In addition, Tremors 6 has been given an official title.

The new Tremors flick is officially titled Tremors: A Cold Day in Hell. The title refers to the setting in the Canadian tundra. As for the PG-13 rating? That shouldn't come as a big surprise, as every movie in the franchise to date has been given the same rating. Tremors 6 has earned the rating for, "creature violence, gore, crude humor, and language." That sounds like a Tremors movie alright.

In Tremors: A Cold Day in Hell,...

Tremors 6 Gets a Release Date
Jamie Kennedy and Michael Gross in Tremors 6: A Cold Day in Hell (2018)
Clear your calendars, lovers of monsters and B-movies, because Tremors 6 is on the way. And now we know when you will be able to see it. Just don't expect to be seeing it in a theater near you, as it will likely be direct-to-video, but still. Thanks to franchise star Michael Gross, it has been confirmed that Tremors 6 will rear its head from the sand, and maybe even the ice this time around, in January 2018.

Michael Gross, who (usually) plays Burt Gummer in the Tremors franchise, took to Facebook to announced that Universal has settled on a release date for Tremors 6. The movie is now set to arrive on January 30, 2018. That will put it right in the heart of a pretty slow time during the year in terms of movie releases, so that could pay off. But the movie won't really be relying on box office since...
