Uni Park is a Korean-Canadian actress known for her emotionally rich performances, striking versatility, and powerful screen presence. Born in Seoul, South Korea, Uni immigrated to Toronto, Canada at the age of nine.
From as early as age seven, she was producing, directing, and performing original plays for her neighborhood community. Her childhood talent was quickly recognized when a television producer discovered one of her street performances and cast her in a Korean children's TV show. Though her early television career in Korea was cut short by her move to Canada, her passion for acting never wavered.
Later, Uni honed her craft at the prestigious American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City. Uni also earned a degree in Illustration and Design, where she studied sculpting, airbrushing, art history, and visual design. Her love of abstract color and composition has led to the creation of many beautifully rendered airbrush projects-works that reflect her deep artistic instincts and attention to detail. Her eye for color also earned her an award for color coordination during her studies. Early in her professional career, she was one of the final contenders for the co-starring role opposite Brad Pitt in Seven Years in Tibet. Although life led her in different directions at the time, she returned to acting later in life and quickly compiled a diverse and impressive list of credits.
Among other films, Uni is known for The Unrestricted War (2025), in which she delivered a phenomenal performance as General Chen-a role that showcased her strength, command, and emotional precision. Reviews of The Unrestricted War praised Uni for her "superb performance."
Her screen work includes standout roles in acclaimed series such as Tremors, where she guest-starred in NBC's 2018 pilot directed by Vincenzo Natali and starring Kevin Bacon. She also appeared in American Gods (based on Neil Gaiman's award-winning novel), Orphan Black, Private Eyes, Taken, Condor, Mayday, and held a recurring role as Mrs. Park in CBC's hit comedy Kim's Convenience. She portrayed Melanie Lum Davis in Coroner and Natalie Yoo, a steadfast and devoted mother, in Murdoch Mysteries. Earlier in her career, she appeared in Dirty Work (1998), sharing the screen with top stars, many of whom had cameo roles.
She continues to gain momentum with performances in films such as Dancing Through the Shadow of Mao. Uni recently played a supporting role opposite Peter Gallagher in Caitlin Cronenberg's directorial debut Humane (2024) and gave a stunning performance in Fearfully and Wonderfully Made (2019).
Uni is bilingual-fluent in English and Korean, and conversational in French-and brings a wide-ranging artistic background to her performances. She is also skilled in ballroom and contemporary dance, as well as traditional Korean drum dance.
Her performances have drawn praise from industry leaders:
"Uni! Talk about showing your range... A haunting performance" - NCA
"You have exceeded all our expectations... Grace has strength, humor, and passion because of you... There's no one else we could've imagined in the role. You are a dynamic and powerful actor!"- Andrew Miller (Writer) and Vincenzo Natali (the director) Tremors
"Truly special... a promising actress of great talent and an honorable lady." - Arthur Cohn
"Uni Park is a unique actress, unusual, and different in every aspect." - William Shatner
With a career marked by both critical acclaim and artistic depth, Uni continues to captivate audiences and collaborators alike.
