- Lloyd Owen plays Captain Elendil in Prime Video's Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. His further screen appearances are vast and varied including William Heelis, husband of Renée Zellweger's beloved author Beatrix Potter in Miss Potter, the lead in Viva Laughlin for CBS and Sony Pictures alongside Hugh Jackman, as well as roles in the NBC/Sky production of Yo'u, Me and the Apocalypse with Rob Lowe, and the hugely popular BBC series Monarch of the Glen. Produced by George Lucas, Lloyd also starred as Professor Jones Snr in The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles, playing a young Sean Connery who had made the character famous in the preceding movies. Other notable credits include: Commander Nathan Walker in Apollo 18, as well as the cult TV comedy Coupling. - I was always made to read plays at school but I never wanted to. Then I was made to take part in a school play and I didn't want to do that either but I started to get approval for my acting. I was reasonably academic, good at sport, but somehow with the acting, people said 'that was fantastic'. So I thought 'maybe that's what I'll do then'. It went from there.
