Stewart Copeland, legendary drummer of The Police, was tasked with playing along to Limp Bizkit’s “Rollin’ (Air Raid Vehicle)” while hearing it for the first time as part of Drumeo’s popular YouTube series.
Drumeo’s first “For the First Time” episode of 2025 follows acclaimed editions featuring Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Chad Smith taking on Thirty Seconds to Mars’ “The Kill” in 2023, and Dream Theater’s Mike Portnoy figuring out Tool’s “Pneuma” last year, among others. The Smith episode has garnered 20 million views itself.

Copeland, who landed in the Top 10 of Consequence’s 100 Best Drummers of All Time list, was asked by Drumeo host Brandon Toews if he had seen the “For the First Time” series at all, replying, “I saw Chad. How can you not love Chad?”
Toews then started playing “Rollin'” without its drum track for Copeland, who immediately began to play along.

Attorneys for Universal Music Group have responded to Limp Bizkit‘s $200 million lawsuit against the music publisher, claiming the allegations are based on “fiction.”
As previously reported, Fred Durst and Limp Bizkit filed a lawsuit against Universal Music for $200 million, claiming the band “never received any royalties” until recently.

In the lawsuit, filed on October 8th, Durst’s lawyers allege that Limp Bizkit and “possibly hundreds of other artists” have “unfairly had their royalties wrongfully withheld for years” due to a “fraudulent” system created by Universal Music. Considering Limp Bizkit’s massive popularity during those years, and the considerable amount of subsequent royalties, the lawsuit raised eyebrows across the industry.
Now, Umg’s attorneys have hit back in a motion last Friday (November 22nd), stating that Durst’s claims are “based on a fallacy” and that documents included in his own lawsuit “eviscerate” his case.

“Oh shit, in the studio with John Otto … we ’bout to lay it down with those drumsticks dawg,” said Durst in the clip. “Let’s get that funky funky. Let’s get that Limp Bizkit popping off.”
While no music can be heard, a second clip did feature Otto playing a snappy, pocketed beat, with Durst adding the caption: “Human Drum Machine.”
The nu-metal band appears to be using its downtime between tours to record new material. Durst and company do have a busy 2025 itinerary ahead, including an upcoming European/UK run and North American dates supporting Metallica’s “M72” tour (get tickets here).

Fred Durst, of Limp Bizkit fame, has ventured into indie films with impressive performances in "I Saw the TV Glow" and "Y2K." Despite his music career, Durst has directed films such as "The Fanatic" and continues to make music with Limp Bizkit. Durst's acting talent shines through in his varied roles, hinting at a potential future in more film and TV projects.
Believe it or not, Fred Durst is still making music, and he's added something else to his artistic portfolio as well. There are a few ways people may know the name Fred Durst. Most notably, he's the lead singer of the controversial nu-metal band Limp Bizkit. Others may know him as the man Eminem rapped about on "Slim Shady" when the Detroit artist said he wanted to sit next to Durst and Carson Daly. Still, younger people may only recognize Durst from his wild appearance in the Woodstock '99 documentary.

In February, all seemed good in the Limp Bizkit camp. The '90s rap-rock band signed a new record deal with Cash Money Records, and was poised to get "back in this ho" that we call the record business. But it appears that things are not all red baseball caps and passed-out college girls after all. TMZ reports that Durst wants to fire two of the band's original members, drummer John Otto and DJ Lethal, because they do not fit with his "new vision" for Limp Bizkit. What that means isn't entirely clear, but Durst apparently is also upset ...

Limp Bizkit's Fred Durst is reportedly planning to fire two original members of the band. The frontman is said to be looking for a "new vision" for the group since they were signed to Cash Money Records. Original bandmates DJ Lethal and John Otto have been warned by Durst that their partying lifestyles do not fit in with Durst's plans, reports TMZ. DJ Lethal said: "We've worked together the last four years to bring Limp Bizkit back to where it is today, and to just be thrown out on the street after the band gets a new deal and a new chance at life isn't cool." He added: "You can't push away the people who helped you get there. The fans should know that if two-fifths of the original band are not playing at the concerts, it wont be truthful to them." He had previously tweeted on Friday (March...

Limp Bizkit have confirmed that they are reforming to tour and produce new material. The original lineup of Fred Durst, Wes Borland, Sam Rivers, John Otto and DJ Lethal will reunite to work on the band's first album since 2005's The Unquestionable Truth (Part 1). Everyone else is doing it, so why not Limp Bizkit? After eight years being broken up, Limp Bizkit has decided to give it another go and get the band back together. They’ll be reunited for a new album, and hopefully another tour, according to Interscope Records. The band was made up of Fred Durst, Wes Borland, Sam Rivers, John Otto and DJ Lethal. The last time they played together was in the fall of 2001, after which Borland left the band to focus on his own music. During that dormant period, Fred Durst was supposedly focusing on his acting...
