Two of his children appeared in Side by Side: The True Story of the Osmond Family (1982), Justin Osmond as a young version of his brother Virl Osmond and Travis Osmond as a young version of his brother Tom Osmond.

Brother of Alan Osmond, Donny Osmond, Jay Osmond, James A. Osmond, Wayne Osmond Virl Osmond, Tom Osmond and Marie Osmond. All nine Osmond siblings studied karate under Chuck Norris.

Merrill and wife, Mary, have six children: Travis Osmond, Justin Osmond, Shane, Heather, Troy, and Sheila.

Producer of "Operation Family Front," a special benefit/television variety program to assist the families of Utah servicemen involved in Operation Desert Storm in 1991.

In addition to publishing songs, Merrill has also produced and published more than 90 teleplays and scripts. He served as the executive producer of the Donny & Marie Show on ABC (1976-1979), and on such other programs as: "The Making of an Inaugural for Ronald Reagan," "The Roy Clark Special," "The Osmond Family Christmas Special" and many others.

Grew up as the middle child of nine children, a member of the famous Osmond Family. His entertainment career, as lead singer of the Osmonds, has spanned over 40 years.

Son of George Osmond and Olive Osmond.

The Osmonds were awarded a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for Recording at 7080 Hollywood Boulevard in Hollywood, California.

Performs at the Osmond Family Theater in Branson, Missouri. When not performing in Branson, Merrill performs elsewhere in the world with recent performances in London, Las Vegas, and touring on various Royal Caribbean cruise lines. (August 2001)

Has four grandchildren; two born to his son Shane (who was married May 19, 2001, to Brittney Harkness), Aspen Rushelle (b. April 8, 2003) and Andelyn Sherina (b. January 11, 2005), one born to his daughter Heather (married May 3, 2002, to Kade Hallows), Keaton Kade (b. April 27, 2005) and one born to eldest son, Travis (married July 10, 1998 to Maggon Palmer), Cassidi (b. April 12,2007).

He is of English, Welsh, Scottish, one eighth Danish, Scots-Irish/Northern Irish, Swiss-German, German, and Dutch ancestry.
