Was a Forestry Agriculture Academy student active in the faculty's amateur drama group when he was cast in the leading role as Lemminkäinen in Sampo (1959). To his dismay, the preparation for the role and subsequent filming held up his studies for more than 1-1/2 years. It was his only film role.
