I have a big issue with how J. Jonah Jameson was portrayed in Spider-Man: No Way Home. The character was made a caricature of a conspiracy theory podcaster, the likes of which seem to have become popular in some circles, which feels like a clear case of character assassination.

Jameson has no love for Spider-Man, but the comics, and even the Sam Raimi films, have proven time and time again that you simply cannot mess with J. Jonah Jameson, who can in all certainty, give the likes of Lois Lane a run for her money when it comes to being a journalist. I believe Spider-Man: Brand New Day can redeem this, but it needs to make sure that it get’s right vibe.

It's been a few months since Disney+ released the first season of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, a retelling of Peter Parker's (Hudson Thames) origin story set in an alternate universe from the MCU. The rumors were true... kind of: Colman Domingo was, at one point, in talks to join the MCU. However, the rumors of Domingo taking over for Jonathan Majors as the powerful villain Kang might not be as accurate as you thought.

Even though the Ant-Man sequel made Kang into a laughingstock, the MCU was still looking to establish the villain as an Avengers-level threat. One of Marvel's most iconic heroes of the 2000s, the Sentry is finally returning to the page this December in a new limited series, as the complex and twisting history of Marvel's dark Superman continues to expand.

The Sentry, called Bob Reynolds in his civilian form, debuted in 2000's The Sentry #1 by Paul Jenkins and Jae Lee as a powerful hero with the "power of one million exploding suns," which manifested after drinking a special super soldier formula. Now, Marvel is releasing an all-new The Sentry limited series from writer Jason Loo and artist Luigi Zagaria. The publisher also unveiled artist Bob Harvey's cover for the first issue, which will hit shelves this December.

The announcement reveals that the Sentry's powers are manifesting in regular civilians, a terrifying new reality for the denizens of the Marvel Universe.

Willem Dafoe is the latest bold-faced name to join the cast of Beetlejuice 2.

The Warner Bros. feature began production this week with Tim Burton, who directed the original movie that was released in 1988, back in the director’s chair.

Jenna Ortega is leading the cast, with Michael Keaton reprising his role as the obnoxious ghost, while Winona Ryder is also back, playing Ortega’s mother. Catherine O’Hara is also among the returnees, while Justin Theroux and Monica Bellucci are among the newcomers.

Willem Dafoe has said he would gladly return to the role of Green Goblin, in another Spider-Man sequel.

The actor first played the Marvel Comics villain, whose real name is Norman Osborne, in Sam Raimi’s 2002 blockbuster Spider-Man.

He would later reprise the part briefly in Raimi’s two sequels, before making his full return as the character in 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Speaking to Inverse, Dafoe described Norman Osborne as a “great role”, insisting that he could be coaxed back to the character “if everything was right”.

“I liked the fact that it’s a double role both times,” he said. “Twenty years ago, and fairly recently, both times [were] very different experiences, but I had a good time on both.”

These days, Spider-Man is as ubiquitous as the Marvel Cinematic Universe of which he's a part. In recent years the character has come to fully realize his potential as an everyman hero by literally appearing as a multitude of varied characters across different forms of media. From Miles Morales to the many different incarnations of Peter Parker to emerge from the multiverse, Spider-Man has truly come into his own in the 21st century.

But back when I was a kid, there was nothing like the bevy of Spidey products on offer today. In fact, if you weren't reading the comics, there wasn't really much to delve into in the early '90s. Sam Raimi was yet to make his seminal movie saga, and James Cameron couldn't get his vision for the character off the ground after Carolco, the studio behind his action classic "Terminator 2," bought the rights and then went bust.

Though already a heartbreaking moment, new Spider-Man: No Way Home concept art reveals an alternate version of Aunt May's death. The third installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe franchise saw Tom Holland's Peter Parker breaking the doors of the multiverse open with the help of Benedict Cumberbatch's Doctor Strange in the hopes of restoring his secret identity after being exposed by Jake Gyllenhaal's Mysterio in the previous film. Afterwards, he decided to turn his life around and try to be a force for good instead of evil. This is in addition to trying to reconcile with the Hobgoblin Roderick Kingsley and forming a relationship with his grandson and the boy's mother.
