    • Evelyn Opela was born on February 4, 1945 in Warnsdorf, Sudetenland [now Varnsdorf, Czech Republic]. She is an actress, known for Das blaue Palais (1974), Blankenese (1994) and Night Train to Venice (1993).

  • Married the Czech conductor Jaroslav Opela (1935-2016) in the 1960s. Her second husband was the actor Helmut Ringelmann.
  • Best known on the big screen for her roles in Harald Reinl's film Schloss Hubertus and Alfred Vohrers Das Schweigen im Walde, , both based on novels by Ludwig Ganghofer.
  • Trained for acting at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague and appeared on screen in Czech films from 1964, as well as on stage with the National Theatre in Prague.
  • Noted for her leading roles on the stage, including in Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet (Juliet), As You Like It (Rosalind) and Caesar and Cleopatra (Cleopatra); also in the title roles of Ibsen's Hedda Gabbler and Antigone by Sophocles.
