Wendy Ord has just been nominated for a 2025 Leo Award -Best Direction Television Movie- for the LifeTime True Crime Drama "Searching for a Serial Killer - the Regina Smith Story". She has directed 11 movies for Television in the past 3 years, all of which premiered on Hallmark or LifeTime. Her work includes Romantic Comedies, Christmas Movies and Thrillers. She was nominated for a 2024 Leo award- Best Direction in a Television Movie for "The Perfect Christmas Carol". Wendy brings creativity & passion to all her films as well as a breadth of experience to get them done on time and on budget.
She wrote, directed and co-produced "To The Worlds", which won 2020's Canadian Screen Award for Best Documentary Program. It was CBC's highest rated doc of the year & garnered rave reviews. To The Worlds also received 5 Leo Award nominations for Best Documentary Program, Director, Writer, Editor and winning for Original Score.
Wendy holds the distinction of being the first female 1st Assistant director in Canada and as such, has worked on hundreds of hours of television series, MOW's, Feature Films and 3-D Imax movies around the globe.
