- Perished along with his two daughters, Madita and Annik, when a small passenger plane they were on-board crashed into the Atlantic Ocean, off the coast of Bequia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, on January 4, 2024. The plane's pilot also died on impact. The plane took off from Bequia Airport and was en route to the neighboring island of St. Lucia.
