“The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender” is being pushed back from Jan. 30 to Oct. 9, 2026.

Paramount Pictures also announced that “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem 2” is delayed. Previously Set For Oct. 9, 2026, the sequel to “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem” will now open a year later on Sept. 17, 2027. However, “Paw Patrol: The Dino Movie,” which was previously set for a July 31, 2026 release, is opening wide a week earlier on July 24, 2026.

As previously announced, Dave Bautista, Steven Yeun and Eric Nam will headline the voice cast for “The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender.” Lauren Montgomery is set to direct and William Mata is on board as co-director.

The film takes place years after the events of 2005’s “Avatar: The Last Airbender,” which followed then-12-year-old Aang — a long-lost Avatar who learned to master the elements and save the globe from the ruthless Fire Nation.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fans will have to wait a bit longer for party time to begin.

Paramount Pictures announced several changes to its release calendar on Friday, with the animated sequel Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem 2 now set for wide theatrical release Sept. 17, 2027, after having previously been slated for Oct. 9, 2026.

Director Jeff Rowe is helming the follow-up to his original film that hit theaters in August 2023 and collected $180 million worldwide. The star-studded voice cast for the first Mutant Mayhem included Ayo Edebiri, Maya Rudolph, John Cena, Seth Rogen, Rose Byrne, Jackie Chan, Ice Cube and Paul Rudd. The franchise launched with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comic book that debuted in 1984.

The third installment in the Paw Patrolfranchise, Paw Patrol: The Dino Movie, has rounded out its cast for the feature film set for a 2026 release. The third film will follow the cartoon dogs as they venture out of the city and into the jungle, and encounter dinosaurs. Per Variety, several notable Hollywood names have been added to the cast of the follow-up to 2023's Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie.

Unsurprisingly, veteran Paw Patrol voice actor Ron Pardo will be back voicing the roles of both Cap’n Turbot and Mayor Humdinger. However, a few of the names may have fans a bit surprised. Rapper/actor Snoop Dogg, who is no stranger to voice acting, having starred in the 2022 3D animated series Doggyland, voicing a character called Bow Wizzle, has been cast in Paw Patrol: The Dino Movie. Snoop also had voice acting roles in 2024’s The Garfield Movieand 2013’s Turbo.

“Paw Patrol: The Dino Movie” is rounding out its cast with all stars. Jameela Jamil, Terry Crews, Paris Hilton, Snoop Dogg, Bill Nye and Meredith MacNeill have been added to the third feature film alongside franchise veteran Ron Pardo.

The movie will release theatrically on July 31, 2026, and will be distributed by Paramount Pictures worldwide, excluding Canada where Elevation Pictures distributes.

After eight months, almost 3,000 submissions, seven finalists, and more than 10,000 votes, a winner has been unveiled in the worldwide Quasi-Moon naming contest from Radiolab and the International Astronomical Union (Iau).

“Cardea” has been declared the official name of “(164207) 2004 GU9,” one of Earth’s quasi-moons. In accordance with Iau naming conventions, the name is rooted in one of the world culture’s mythologies: “Cardea” is the Roman goddess of door hinges, thresholds and transitional spaces.

“Cardea” was submitted by Clay Chilcutt, a student at the University of Georgia in Athens, Ga. In his submission, Chilcutt wrote, “Cardea presides over transitions and liminal spaces. A quasi-moon occupies a unique orbital path, existing in a transitional state between a true moon and an independent asteroid. She symbolizes change, guardianship, and the passage between realms. This name reflects the quasi-moon's unique orbital path, embodying a celestial gateway between Earth and space.”

For over 60 years, the Presidential Medal of Freedom has been given out as the highest honor a civilian can get. Joining U.S. President Joe Biden’s list this year – his final in office – are some of our own favorite performers, including Michael J. Fox and Denzel Washington.

The official White House website noted the philanthropic works of Michael J. Fox and Denzel Washington – those in the fight against Parkinson’s and serving as a national spokesman for the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, respectively – as key reasons for receiving the Medal of Freedom. Both have continued to fight the good fight for decades, so it is pretty amazing to see them recognized on this prestigious level. Notably, Denzel Washington was set to receive the Medal of Freedom in 2022 but could not attend due to contracting Covid-19.

Keke Palmer is set to star in a TV adaptation of the dark comedy film “The ‘Burbs,” which has been ordered straight-to-series at Peacock.

Celeste Hughey will adapt the film for television. Seth MacFarlane is set to executive produce, as will Brian Grazer of Imagine Entertainment, with Imagine having produced the film. Dana Olsen, who wrote the film, will co-executive produce.

The series will film on the Universal Studios backlot, just like the movie. Released in 1989, “The ‘Burbs” starred Tom Hanks, Carrie Fisher, Bruce Dern, Rick Ducommun, and Corey Feldman. In the film, the residents of a suburban neighborhood suspect their new neighbors are ritualistic murderers. Produced by Universal Pictures, the film grossed just over $49 million against a reported budget of $18 million. It is now considered a cult classic.
