Amazon Prime Video Reveals Three Spanish Originals, Drops Sergio Ramos Doc Trailer
Madrid — Amazon Prime Video has announced a slate of three new Spanish original series set for 2020, which will strengthen the streamer’s domestic catalog in the country. It also shared the first trailer for its second Spanish soccer docu-series “El corazón de Sergio Ramos” (The Heart of Sergio Ramos).

In “El Cid,” popular Spanish actor Jaime Lorente, a lead player in Netflix’s two biggest Spanish hits thus far “Money Heist” and “Elite,” will play Rodrigo Díaz de Vivar in a series inspired by the legendary medieval war hero, whose deeds inspired one of the most important of medieval Spanish epic poems, “El Cantar de Mio Cid.”

Exclusive: Desperate Housewives alumna Eva Longoria is returning to ABC for another soapy drama, this time as a producer. ABC has bought Trust, an hourlong soap based on the popular Colombian telenovela Pura Sangre, which is produced by Longoria’s UnbeliEVAble Entertainment, Berman/Braun and Universal TV. Written by Katie Lovejoy (Dracula), Trust centers on David Montenegro, a humble attorney in Miami who is given the chance to become the Trustee of the Lagos estate. David takes the job to try and rekindle a romance with his first and only love, Rosella Lagos – who is now engaged to another man – but before long, he finds himself sucked into her dysfunctional family and discovers that, in a world of so much money, the only true currency is trust. Miami, Nov 17 (Ians/Efe) Rafael Novoa is back on Us television screens with 'Talisman', playing a character who is neither hero nor villain.

'Pedro is a victim of life, of circumstances; he tries to be a good human being, to do things as they should be done, but everything gets away from him,' the 41-year-old Colombian told Efe.

'Some protagonists are too perfect. I don't like the goodie-goodies or the baddie-baddies; I like the characters who have a little of both,' Novoa, who shares the screen in `Talisman' with Blanca Soto, explained.

The point of acting, he said, is to illuminate the human condition.

"Grey's Anatomy" To Become Spanish Soap Opera
ABC scored a big hit with their English language translation of telenovela "Yo Soy Betty, La Fea," "Ugly Betty." Now the writer of the original "Ugly Betty" is taking McDreamy to spanish audiences. "Grey's Anatomy" is becoming a spanish soap opera.

Fernando Gaitan, who wrote "Yo Soy Betty La Fea" is scripting "A Corazon Abierto" ("An Open Heart"), based on ABC's hit medical drama "Grey's Anatomy." It has already started production in Bogota, Colombia.

The show follows the standard Latin American television format, with limited series runs. "A Corazon Abierto" will be produced as a "super series" with 80 original episodes being produced. They will air daily in a telenovela-style format.

The new series will feature sets replicated from the hit ABC drama, which stars Patrick Dempsey, Sandra Oh, and Katherine Heigl. It will feature a cast of Latin film and television stars including Rafael Novoa, Carolina Gomez, Jorge Cao, and Jorge Enrique Abello.
