Yvan Noemann aka Yvan Noé (1895-1963) was a journalist ,a novelist and a playwright ,as well as a director. His masterpiece ,"La Cavalcade Des Heures "(1943) ,influenced by Fritz Lang 's "Der Mûde Tod" , is an impressive work made up of sketches depicting an already lost fight against the only thing man will not never be able to master:Time. Six Petites Filles En Blanc (1941)already showed the fear of getting old and of realizing that life has passed you by. He would resume his obsession with time and death in "Une Mort Sans Importance "(1948), comedy style this time. Some other interesting efforts include spy/detective thriller ("Le Château Des Quatre Obèses" ),whodunit ("L'Etrange Nuit De Noel")."Les Hommes Sans Peur" (1941) glorified the researchers who sacrifice their life for the sake of science ,recalling Frank Borzage's "green light" .
