The next episode of Apple TV+'s Shrinking is going to be legen—wait for it—dary. How I Met Your Mother alums Cobie Smulders and Jason Segel will be appearing on-screen together for the first time since the CBS sitcom went off-air in 2014.

People shared several first look images from the Wednesday, Dec. 11 episode, which finds Segel's main character, Jimmy, looking to purchase a yellow Volkswagen vehicle from Smulders' Sophie. Jimmy arrives at Sophie's house to inspect the vehicle with his next-door neighbor, Derek (Ted McGinley), who claims to be good at negotiating. It's too early to tell if the Shrinking reunion will feature any subtle (or perhaps not so subtle) callbacks to Segel and Smulders' time together on How I Met Your Mother. Still, with less than a week to go until the episode drops on Apple TV+, fans won't have to wait long to find out.

Cobie Smulders is always open to playing Robin Scherbatsky again. The actor recently addressed the possibility of returning to the world of How I Met Your Mother for a reunion movie or series.

Speaking with Collider to promote her episode of the Fox anthology series Accused, Smulders didnt hesitate to express her willingness to return as Robin in a future How I Met Your... project. "Always, anytime. I was lucky enough to do one episode of How I Met Your Father. So I feel likewe did it?" the actor shared. "I love those people, so to be back in a scene with any of them I would do. But theres nothing yet," she continued, before adding, "That I'm in!"

How I Met Your Father continued the story of How I Met Your Mother, though the spinoff series wasn't fated to last nearly as long. Though the original show was on the air for 11 seasons, Hulu wound up canceling How I Met Your Father after just two.

While How I Met Your Father was in the midst of its two-season run, original series star Alyson Hannigan wasn't watching. Per People, Hannigan recently shared her thoughts on How I Met Your Father, admitting that she didn't have it in her to actually watch the show. As Hannigan explained, this was due to feeling sentimental about the original series, making it emotionally difficult to see the "same set" used by a new cast of characters.

How I Met Your Father will not return for Season 3 after Hulu canceled the series, which starred Hilary Duff.

The cancelation news comes less than two months after How I Met Your Father Season 2 finale aired on the streaming platform. How I Met Your Father serves as a spinoff to the beloved How I Met Your Mother, which aired on CBS from 2005 to 2014. While it isn't a direct sequel, it shares the same New York City backdrop as its predecessor. In addition, the series even welcomed guest appearances from familiar Himym faces, such as Cobie Smulders and Neil Patrick Harris, along with other alums from the original show including Laura Bell Bundy, Joe Nieves, and Kyle MacLachlan. Characters portrayed by Christopher Lowell and Suraj Sharma reside in the apartment previously inhabited by Ted, played by Josh Radnor, and Marshall, played by Jason Segel, from the original series.

Exclusive: Stuck in the Middle star Jenna Ortega has been cast in a lead role opposite Alyson Hannigan and Leslie Bibb in Man of the House, ABC’s multi-camera hybrid family comedy pilot from Gail Berman’s The Jackal Group, ABC Studios and Scandal star Kerry Washington’s studio-based Simpson Street.

Ortega is segueing to Man Of the House from another multi-camera comedy, Disney Channel’s Stuck In the Middle, which wrapped production on its third season last week. It will be the series’ last season, Deadline has learned. The 22-episode third and final season of Stuck In the Middle will begin airing this summer. The series has produced 59 episodes in total.

Ortega, who plays the lead in Stuck In the Middle, hinted at the comedy coming to an end with tearful messages on Twitter and Instagram at the wrap of production last week.

The Soho Film Festival ran its course for the fourth time on April 5-12 in the Landmark Sunshine Cinema Theater, in Soho, New York. The festival featured over 70 films and shorts and brought together not only new and aspiring filmmakers, actors, writer and all, but also brought already established filmmakers and cinema enthusiasts to share ideas.

One of the films at the festival was West End, a film that is described as “Hamlet on the Jersey Shore.” Directed and written by Joe Basile, who also stars in the film as a priest, the film counts Eric Roberts, Peter Onorati, Neal Bledsoe, Isabella Hofmann, Joe Nieves and Lou Martini Jr. amongst its cast.

NBC's remake of the UK police drama, Prime Suspect, was one of the most anticipated new series of the new fall season. Unfortunately, it hasn't lived up to expectations. It'll surely be cancelled and now, it's just a question of when. Has NBC even tried to save it?

Prime Suspect revolves around tough-as-nails Detective Jane Timoney (Maria Bello) as she works in the male-dominated homicide department of the NYPD. The show also stars Aidan Quinn, Brian O'Byrne, Tim Griffin, Kirk Acevedo, Joe Nieves, Damon Gupton, and Peter Gerety.

The series debuted on September 22nd to a 1.8 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 6.05 million total viewers. Most new series at least get solid ratings for their debut but Prime Suspect was a disappointment right out of the gate and was in a distant third place in its timeslot. Wendy & Lisa are scoring the upcoming NBC police procedural drama Prime Suspect. The show is based on the BBC series with the same title starring Helen Mirren. Peter Berg (Friday Night Lights, The Kingdom) directed the pilot and is also executive producing the project. Alexandra Cunningham (Desperate Housewives) has written the pilot’s script and will also be producing the project. The series stars Maria Bello as as Jane Timoney, a female detective struggling to make her bones in a tough New York precinct dominated by men. Aidan Quinn, Kirk Acevedo, Joe Nieves and Brian O’Byrne. The show is produced by Universal Media Studio, for which the composer duo of Wendy Melvoin and Lisa Coleman have previously scored such shows as Heroes, Bionic Woman and Mercy. NBC's "Prime Suspect" has added a new face to its cast, one who knows his way around crime shows.

Kenny Johnson ("The Shield," "Saving Grace") has been cast in the new series, but not as a cop: He'll play Detective Jane Timoney's (Maria Bello) boyfriend, according to The Hollywood Reporter. He replaces British actor Toby Stephens, who played the part in the pilot.

It's that time again, and NBC has revealed it's 2011-2012 schedule. A couple of things have been kicked to the curb, and a host of new shows are coming to fill things in. I have a preview of the new fall shows, and the full schedule for you. There are a few surprises on the cut and not cut side of things, and the new shows have a bit of something for everyone. As usual, some of the ones that look the best to me are reserved for mid-season. And, NBC has apparently given up on Saturday altogether.

"Prime Suspect" started as a police procedural in the United Kingdom, airing at various times between 1991 and 2006 and starring the inimitable Helen Mirren. NBC is taking their swing at the crime drama in 2011 with Mario Bello as the tough-as-nails Detective Jane Timoney (Jane Tennison in the U.K. version).

The show has been redeveloped for American audiences by writer Alexandra Cunningham ("Desperate Housewives," "NYPD Blue") and director Peter Berg (NBC's "Friday Night Lights"). Bello's Timoney is a newly-transferred New York City homicide detective having to deal with being the new woman in a male-dominated department.

"Prime Suspect" also stars Aidan Quinn ("Unknown"), Brian O'Byrne ("Flash Forward"), Tim Griffin ("Star Trek"), Kirk Acevedo ("Fringe"), Joe Nieves ("How I Met Your Mother"), Damon Gupton ("The Last Airbender") and Peter Gerety ("Blue Bloods"). The latest round of pilot casting includes a familiar face returning to CBS, Fox casting a lead in "I Hate My Teenage Daughter" and NBC adding three actors to its "Prime Suspect" pilot.

These updates come courtesy of Deadline Hollywood, which, we must admit, has pretty much been owning the casting news this pilot season. Here's the rundown:

- Former "Without a Trace" star Poppy Montgomery is returning to CBS in a drama pilot from one of that show's exec producers, Ed Redlich, and co-writer John Bellucci. She'll play an NYPD detective who's blessed/cursed with the ability to remember absolutely everything.
