Stir Of Echoes Review: Kevin Bacon's Chilling Ghost Story Is Still A Massively Underrated Horror Gem
Across his near-40-year career, David Koepp has delivered several iconic adaptations of genre properties, the most notable being that of the Jurassic Park franchise, co-writing the original with author Michael Crichton, writing the sequel and returning for the upcoming Jurassic World Rebirth. But situated among his more popular works in the '90s and early 2000s is what's still one of his most thrilling and underrated efforts with Stir of Echoes, which also marked his second time in the director's chair.
Stir of Echoes follows Tom Witzky, portrayed by Kevin Bacon, who begins experiencing unsettling visions after being hypnotized by his sister-in-law. As these spectral occurrences intensify, Tom finds himself drawn into unraveling the mystery surrounding a girl's ghost.

Will Ferrell is one of the funniest actors of his generation, with a list of hit comedy movies that have aged brilliantly. Will Ferrell first rose to prominence as a cast member on Saturday Night Live in the 1990s. He had a few minor movie roles during this time, like his memorable cameos in two Austin Powers movies and his flamboyant villain role in Zoolander, but he didn't make his best movies until he left SNL.
Will Ferrell's best comedy movies often see him playing ignorant manchild characters, like in Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby and Step Brothers. Ferrell can go for crude comedy, slapstick and broad humor, but he's also intelligent and reserved when he needs to be. This subtle range means that Ferrell's greatest hits are more varied than they might first appear, with animated movies, sports comedies and more showing that he has endless ways of making his audience laugh.
