Luke Newberry

Luke Newberry is a British actor originally from Exeter, England. He trained as an actor at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. Luke is well-known for his performance as Kieren Walker in the BBC Series IN THE FLESH, which earned him a BAFTA nomination for Best Leading Actor.
Other Television credits include GENTLEMAN JACK, THE SINGAPORE GRIP, TO WALK INVISIBLE, FROM DARKNESS, BANANA, LIGHTFIELDS and MRS BIGGS. In 2013, Luke was selected as one of Screen International's 'Stars of Tomorrow'.
On film, Luke played the leading role of Derek 'Dusty' Springfield in DUSTY & ME, directed by Betsan Morris Evans which won the Grand Prize Best Feature at Marina Del Rey Film Festival and received Best Feature nominations at Carmel International Film Festival and Tallinn Black Nights Festival. Other film credits include Dustin Hoffmans directorial debut QUARTET, Joe Wrights ANNA KARENINA, THE LEGEND OF HERCULES, FRANKENSTEIN'S ARMY and 8 MINUTES IDLE.
For the stage, Luke made his debut as Haemon in Sophocles' ANTIGONE at Londons' National Theatre alongside Jodie Whittaker and Christopher Eccleston. He then starred as Gabe in the UK Premiere of TEDDY FERRARA at the Donmar Warehouse, and featured as Eli Wolcott in the UK Premiere of Tony Kushners THE INTELLIGENT HOMOSEXUALS GUIDE TO CAPITALISM & SOCIALISM WITH A KEY TO THE SCRIPTURES at the Hampstead Theatre.
In 2018, Luke portrayed Malcolm in the RSC'S MACBETH directed by Polly Findlay, which transferred to London's Barbican Centre. In 2019, he was awarded Third Prize at the Ian Charleson Awards for his performance.
