Steve Nevil has worked as an actor for five decades in film, television, stage and stream. He loved show business since childhood..Nevil's first time on stage was in college in a production of "Death of a Salesman" and after graduating with a BFA from University of the Pacific in Stockton, California in USA, he spent a few years doing summer stock, beginning with the leading role of Tom in "Tea and Sympathy." on stage.
Nevil then went to New York to study first with the Circle-in-the-Square Theatre School and then later with his mentor Herbert Berghof at the HB Studio. He returned to the west coast to obtain his Masters of Fine Arts in Theatre degree at UCLA. There he was seen in an acting competition by Olivia de Havilland who recommended him to an agent. Many guest appearances on TV followed, including Lou Grant, Trapper John, Cheers, Murder She Wrote, Wings, Fresh Prince, Moonlighting, Quantum Leap, Who's the Boss, Mama's Family, the Jeffersons, and House. Nevil worked with Gregory Peck in the CBS miniseries The Blue and the Gray. Later, he worked with James Stewart on the Campbell's Home Cookin' Soup commercials in 1990, which inspired him to do a
one-person show based on Stewart's life. After many revisions, critiques, and workshops, the play was approved by Stewart's children. It has since played all over the country, including LA and NY and in Stewart's hometown of Indiana, PA at the Stewart Museum. After he co-wrote "As Always Jimmy Stewart" with Ted Snyder, Nevil then wrote "Welcome to Heretofore" for which he won the Better Lemons Fringe Award in 2017 . His play "The Night Forlorn (or, Waitin' on Godsford)" won the award for Best Play of the year at the 2018 Valley Theatre Awards.
