  • He was scheduled for the lead in Salaud (1971) which was due to be a B picture but Elizabeth Taylor was in London filming and Richard Burton wanted a film so it was given to him and made into an A feature.
  • Son of comedian Harry Nesbitt.
  • Usually cast as smiling villains or characters who had secret agendas.
  • During the 1960s, he worked opposite some major Hollywood names. Amongst them were Clint Eastwood, Frank Sinatra and George Peppard.
  • His actor idols are Marlon Brando and Ralph Richardson.
  • Claimed to have been born at London's Finsbury Park Empire theatre.
  • Nesbitt has related that, during the filming of Quand les aigles attaquent (1968), director Brian G. Hutton asked him to watch out for Richard Burton's drinking, because it was causing the film to run behind schedule. As Nesbitt was on a day rate, his motivation was to do just the opposite, and so encouraged Burton to join him for "a quick one" whenever possible.

  • He founded the British record and tape store Our Price with his brother in the 1970's.
  • Father of Kerry Nesbitt.
