Bob Nelson got his first start as an entertainer as a stand up comedian, appearing on The Big Laff Off (TV Series) in 1978. He is most famous for his hilarious football routine as well as his "Jiffy Jeff" boxer and his also famous duck routine.

Came up in the comedy industry with Howard Stern's former head writer Jackie Martling; Bob called into Howard's show to prove he had a better career than Jackie (upon Stern's prompting), and Bob sang Jackie "Happy Birthday" since it was Jackie's birthday. Ironically, years earlier, Bob had appeared in the low budget comedy Ryder P.I. that had also featured both Stern and Martling.
