Clint Eastwood revisited Harry Callahan three more times, usually whenever his career was in the dumps. If Dirty Harry was a cultural phenomenon and Magnum Force a respectable follow-up, the rest are uninspired cash-ins. The main law Harry enforces in these sequels is the Law of Diminishing Returns.

Given Dirty Harry‘s San Francisco setting, something like The Enforcer (1976) was inevitable. After all, San Fran hosted Haight-Ashbury, hippie capital of the world; was a favored site for Black Panther and Sds protests; headquarters of the nascent gay rights movement; victim of Weathermen bombings and the racially-charged Zebra murders. Writers Gail Morgan Hickman and S.W. Schurr based their script, originally titled “Moving Target,” on the Symbionese Liberation Army which kidnapped Patty Hearst. Dean Riesner (who cowrote the original Harry) and Stirling Silliphant (In the Heat of the Night) polished the film.

Sister Act To Add Weekday Matinees This Spring
The hit Broadway musical, Sister Act, is adding 3 weekday matinee performances to its spring schedule to accommodate ticket demand. The added performances will be on Thursday, March 22 at 2pm Friday, April 13 at 2pm and Thursday, May 17 at 2pm. Currently in its ninth smash month, Sister Act is performed at the Broadway Theatre 1681 Broadway. This winter, from January 2, 2012 through March 4, 2012, Sister Act will be performed on the following schedule Monday at 7pm, Tuesday at 7pm, Wednesday at 2pm and 8pm, Friday at 8pm, Saturday at 2pm and 8pm, and Sunday at 3pm.Beginning March 5, 2012, the performance schedule will be as follows Tuesday at 7pm, Wednesday at 2pm and 8pm, Thursday at 8pm, Friday at 8pm, Saturday at 2pm and 8pm, and Sunday at 3pm. Benanti, Neenan, And Poe Join Cast Of Why Torture Is Wrong
The Public Theater (Artistic Director Oskar Eustis; Executive Director Andrew D. Hamingson) announced complete casting today for Christopher Durang's Why Torture Is Wrong, And The People Who Love Them. Laura Benanti, Audrie Neenan, and Richard Poe will join the previously announced Amir Arison, David Aaron Baker, Kristine Nielsen, and John Pankow in this world premiere comedy, directed by Nicholas Martin. Why Torture Is Wrong, And The People Who Love Them begins previews on March 24 and runs through April 26 with an official press opening on Monday, April 6 at 7 Pm.
