Graham Nash

Trivia

Graham Nash

Edit
  • Had a long term love affair with singer Joni Mitchell. In fact, he wrote the song "Our House" about their relationship.
  • Was nearly killed at Woodstock as the helicopter that was flying him in lost its tail rotor just as it was coming in for a landing. As a result the helicopter was forced to autorotate down the last 25 feet and make a hard landing. Luckilly, Nash wasn't hurt and he was still able to perform.
  • He was awarded the OBE (Officer of the Order of the British Empire) in the 2010 Queen's Birthday Honours List for his services to music.
  • Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997 (as a member of Crosby, Stills and Nash).
  • Left the Hollies because he wanted to write more challenging material. In fact, he quit the band after they announced they were going to do an album of Bob Dylan covers.
  • When he started teaming up with David Crosby and Stephen Stills, a problem arose because Crosby and Stills were signed to Atlantic records and Nash, as a member of the Hollies, was signed to Epic. The problem was resolved when Atlantic "traded" Richie Furay to Epic for Nash.
  • Was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for a second time in 2009 as a member of the Hollies.
  • Father of Jackson Nash
  • The original singer and rhythm guitarist for The Hollies.
  • Was a founding member of MUSE (Musicians United for Safe Energy).
  • Crosby, Stills, and Nash were awarded a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for Recording at 6666 Hollywood Boulevard in Hollywood, California.
