Max Myers(I)

Max Myers grew up on the violent streets of East London housing estates. Either you learned to fight, or you didn't survive. His family, originally from Bow, moved to Dagenham where his grandfather worked at the Ford plant. His dad was a sergeant in the British army and his mother was from Germany.

Max turned to boxing and street life yet despite expectations, became a tour manager and bodyguard for numerous bands, eventually moving to Baltimore with an American band. Having grown up poor and hard, he fell in love with America and the dream it offered. After a few years of constantly being on the road, he moved to New York City and started a music production company. But then the recession hit, rendering him homeless and penniless. His close friend got him a job running the door in a nightclub, leading to a succession of door gigs as head of security. Always a songwriter, he wrote his first screenplay, Thugz, which garnered him a development deal with Martin Scorsese under the sage guidance of Barbara De Fina.

His first feature, Don't Let Go, won Outstanding Directorial Achievement at the Stony Brook Film Festival, Best Picture at Westchester and a Prism Award in Los Angeles. He has written for multiple producers, companies and celebrities. Max's first novel, Boysie Blake - Problem Solver won best thriller at the Beverly Hills Book Awards.
