Daughter of composer Romano Mussolini and writer Maria Scicolone, granddaughter of politician Benito Mussolini, Rachele Mussolini and actress Romilda Villani, niece of Edda Mussolini, Vittorio Mussolini, Bruno Mussolini and actress Sophia Loren, great-niece of journalist Arnaldo Mussolini.

She graduated from university in 1992, specializing in surgery.
