Rob Muir began his career as writer/performer with "The Groundlings"
and "Second City, LA". It was at "The Second City" where he met and
began writing with fellow performer
Bob Destri Hilgenberg. The newly formed writing
team quickly transitioned into feature film writing, with a series of
comedy rewrites and pitch sales, all at major studios.
Most recent projects include The Family Circus, a live action comedy for 20th Century Fox and Walden Media; Meet The Haunteds (2011) with director Steve Carr and Cowboys and Aliens Platinum Studios. An unannounced feature project for Sony Pictures Animation. Walt Disney's Clochette et l'expédition féerique (2010), released in 2010.
Other recent assignments include the comedy, I Love You Again (2000), for New Line Cinema. Their original screenplay, Scared Guys (2000), is currently at Sony Pictures with Adam Sandler's "Happy Madison Productions". Bob and Rob did rewrites on Deux en un (2003) for the Farrelly Brothers, and they wrote Father Knows Best for Nickelodeon/Paramount. Their original screenplay, Small World (2012), is in active at Fox.
A turning point for Bob & Rob was in 2005, when they were hired to write Monsters, Inc. (2002) and Toy Story 3 (2010) for Walt Disney Pictures. It was their introduction to the world of animated feature films...they were hooked!
Their original screenplay, Scared Guys (2000), is active at Sony Pictures with Adam Sandler's "Happy Madison Productions", attached. Bob and Rob did rewrites on Deux en un (2003) for Twentieth Century Fox, and they wrote Father Knows Best for Nickelodeon and Paramount. Their original screenplay, Small World (2012), is in active development at Fox 2000.
In 2003, they wrote and directed their award winning, comedy short film, Hiding in Walls (2002), which starred Jane Lynch (Glee (2009), 40 ans, toujours puceau (2005)) and Danny Trejo, (Machete (2010), Spy Kids (2001)). The film satirizes Bob & Rob's adventures as Hollywood Screenwriters. Their television writing includes the produced pilot, Grown-Ups (1998), for Columbia/Tri-Star Television. The comedy sitcom starred Sam Seder, Julie Warner, Farrah Forke, Michael Weatherly and Pat Finn.
When Bob & Rob are not writing, they like to sit around and talk about how similar their names are.
