Stalwart, immensely prolific small-part supporting actor in Hollywood. Born in Hawaii, he began his career as an athletic star of silent westerns and action films.

Perhaps not surprisingly given his immense filmography, he has appeared in more early Technicolor films than anyone else, with a total of fourteen up to the end of 1939, and twenty-seven up to the end of 1946.
