  • He was awarded the O.B.E. (Officer of the Order of the British Empire) in 1959 and Knighthood of the British Empire in the 2000 Queen's Millennium Honors List for his services to the motor-racing industry.
  • In Formula 1, Stirling Moss is often known as 'the greatest driver never to win the world championship', having come second in the championship in 1955, 1956, 1957 and 1958. He was also third in the championship in 1959, 1960 and 1961, before retiring after entering a coma due to an accident in 1962.
  • Ex-Formula One racing driver, who raced for: HWM (1951 (1 GP)-1952 (1 GP)), English Racing Automobiles (ERA) (1952 (3 GPs)), Connaught Engineering (1952 (1 GP)-1953 (1 GP)), Cooper (1953 (3 GPs)), Moss (privé) (1954 (4 GPs)), Maserati (1954 (2 GPs), (1956 (7 GPs)-1957 (1 GP)), Mercedes (1955 (6 GPs)), Vanwall (1957 (5 GPs)-1958 (9 GPs), Rob Walker (1958 (1 GP)-1959 (6 GPs)-1960 (5 GPs)-1961 (8 GPs)) and BRM (1959 (2 GPs)). He started 66 Grands Prix, 16 Wins, 19 Fastests Laps, 24 Podiums and 186.64 Points.

  • Stirling Moss won 1958 Argentine Grand Prix, the first win for a rear-engined car in the World Championship.
